Quin
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 6, 2013 -> 03:10 PM) Maybe they shop Monroe now? Because yeah. I don't see how you can play all three of them together. And no Quinarvy, there's no way we can get him. That I at least know. Monroe should be a kings ransom.
ZoomSlowik
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 6, 2013 -> 03:10 PM) Maybe they shop Monroe now? Because yeah. I don't see how you can play all three of them together. And no Quinarvy, there's no way we can get him. I think they almost have to. They already had a bit of a conumdrum with a Drummond/Monroe frontcourt since Greg isn't very quick and neither of them hits jumpers. Now they added Smith, who can't shoot either and is a better fit at the 4. Teams need centers so you'd think they'd get some talent for him. However, you also don't generally see teams trade young bigs that are cheap and can score. Edited July 6, 2013 by ZoomSlowik

chw42
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 6, 2013 -> 02:29 PM) Josh Smith to the Pistons. 4/56. The Pistons now have the most athletic front-court in basketball (and that's not even including the freak of nature that is Tony Mitchell). Josh Smith is all sorts of bad IMO. It's a good thing the Rockets didn't get him. Now let's flip Gibson for Asik.

chw42
QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jul 6, 2013 -> 01:08 PM) I kinda doubt Houston would be interested, Gibson is an $8 million non-shooter that's not really an impact player. Josh Smith or Ryan Anderson make a ton more sense. Maybe if both of those fall through. Gibson/Dwight would be pretty damn good defensively, though that'll hurt the spacing. Edit- Just read on rotoworld that Anderson/Asik isn't happening according to Marc Stein, so maybe slightly more possible. Kind of funny how things have switched after one year. I definitely would have taken Gibson at this time last year, but Asik had a solid year. Now that the Rockets are starting to run out of options. This is the time for the Bulls front office to do something. I think LMA + Asik is better than Boozer + Noah. Not too much better, but it's definitely an upgrade. Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 6, 2013 -> 04:14 PM) Josh Smith is all sorts of bad IMO. It's a good thing the Rockets didn't get him. Now let's flip Gibson for Asik. Smith is spectacular when he plays to his strengths (he must realize he's not a perimeter shooter). And unless you're going to flip Noah, Asik makes zero sense. I'd be shocked if Rose or Noah go anywhere and I also expect them to hang onto Deng unless they get a Gasol-like giveaway. Boozer, I'm fairly sure he's gone after this year to avoid the repeater tax and bring over Mirotic. Edited July 7, 2013 by ZoomSlowik

Y2Jimmy0
QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jul 6, 2013 -> 03:07 PM) Which Detroit probably should have done given their NBDL caliber backcourt. If nothing else, sign an actual wing that can shoot a little. They drafted Kentavious Caldwell Pope out of Georgia who I think will be a stud. Still have no PG but that frontcourt is awesome and they have Pope.

2nd_city_saint787
Bulls said to have interest in Wayne Ellington. Looks as though we might see the rookie playing time tradition continue. I wouldn't mind Ellington at all, he's shown to be a pretty good 3 point shooter over most of his career and college. I can live with a lineup of... Rose/Hinrich/Teague Butler/Ellington/Snell Deng/Dunleavy/Snell Boozer/Taj/Thomas or Murphy Noah/Naz/Taj
Jake
I like Caldwell-Pope a lot, too. He will probably end up scoring quite a bit in Detroit as their backcourt is hardly better than the one he was a part of at Georgia (which was also bad). It's too bad, he could do better than just be a bulk scorer.

Balta1701
Also tell me if I'm wrong but don't think I saw this note on Portland's demands for Aldridge: Though rumors about a proposed deal that would send him to Portland in exchange for LaMarcus Aldridge — which was reportedly discussed and summarily turned down by the Bulls in February, according to a source, though recent reports indicate that the Trail Blazers would also want Butler in the package in a move to satisfy their All-Star power forward’s desire to play for a contender, preferably in Chicago, the team that originally drafted him — won’t go away, the Bulls regard Noah as virtually untouchable.Yeah, so it sounds like Noah + Butler was the real asking price.
