bmags
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 29, 2013 -> 05:21 PM) They won't be but the 6-8 seeds aren't going to have to be very good. Yeah I don't see how Detroit doesn't get in playoffs.
Jenksismyhero
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 29, 2013 -> 11:15 AM) He averaged like 45 minutes per game. That's not sustainable. He's a nice rotation piece. That's it. Until the Bulls get that legitimate second option they're just a wannabe. More like 40, and I'm not sure why he wouldn't. He's what, 22? He's not 30. Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 29, 2013 -> 10:20 AM) It's not ridiculous hype when people are saying he's a huge upgrade over Keith f***in Bogans, that's literally all anyone has said. This is the first time since LeBron has been in Miami that the Bulls have had a real NBA backcourt, that's going to make a huge difference. No, when multiple people are saying the Bulls are now equipped to beat the Heat because of Jimmy Butler, yes, that's ridiculous hype. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 29, 2013 -> 10:27 AM) More like 40, and I'm not sure why he wouldn't. He's what, 22? He's not 30. He averaged 41.8 MPG in the playoffs. You better get 13 and 5 with that many minutes.

Again, no one is saying that Butler is an all-star and will rival Wade as the best SG in the series. But it's a significant upgrade on both ends of the floor. Steve9347
Guys. Let's focus on and live in the now. Bulls @ Heat tonight. #TheReturn will be official. Will the Champs be distracted by their rings? Will D-Rose get nasty? Who ya got? I have Bulls by 5 with Derrick having a pretty rough night from the floor but making up for it by getting to the line and hitting a couple threes. I see Taj as having a nice game, too. I get that. ANYBODY would've been an upgrade. Jimmy Butler is just not that good that the Bulls are going to go from getting waxed in 5 games to beating the Heat now. And Carlos Boozer is still here. That alone kills everything.

I generally agree with you because the Heat are f'ing ridiculous. Still, if Rose can legitimately hit from long range and Butler (and the rest of the team) can keep it up, it's going to be a lot more difficult to guard the Bulls. It will all depend on health though too. I think Miami would win a 7 game series about 75% of the time against the Bulls. Upgrade it to 80% if it makes you feel better. I just don't think you would be able to say, absolutely, that the Heat would win.

Rowand44
So speaking of Mr. Buckets, I'm actually very excited to see the strides he can make this year. He improved so damn much between year 1 and 2 that there's no reason for me to believe that he can't take another big step forward, especially with Derrick back. I tend to over think things. No, you're right...they are aware of this. When they lost to Dallas a few years ago, they opened up against the Mavs and their ring ceremony and waxed them. But it's not as easy as just "knowing it." The ring ceremony elicits certain emotions that probably aren't particularly conducive to playing a team which really wants to kick your ass. I guess we'll find out.
