LittleHurt05
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 29, 2014 -> 07:56 AM) Gee. What a surprise. He's Bryan Bickell. Maybe he'll show up in the playoffs. Not exactly a stellar offseason for Bowman between the Bickell & Crawford deals.

At least some of us here were able to see through the shiny Stanley Cup aftermath and call them out as bad deals when they happened.

Especially when Andrew Ladd is making 400k more, and he's the guy that they turned away because he would be "too expensive."

Harry Chappas
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 29, 2014 -> 08:56 AM) Not exactly a stellar offseason for Bowman between the Bickell & Crawford deals. The Crawford deal was more of a necessity while Bickell was a third (or fourth) line winger that got hot at the right time.

I guess I just think it is harder to find a starting goalie than it is a third (or fourth) line winger. I do not think Crawford is worth his contract but I understand that signing more than I do Bickell.

Crawford is not, and never has been, said guy. Sadly, he's now paid like it. The only goaltenders who will make more than Crawford (next season) are: Pekka Rinne Jonathan Quick Roberto Luongo Cam Ward Ryan Miller Kari Lehtonen Tuuka Rask Oh my, does Crawford belong nowhere near that list of talent. Don't forget Henrik Lundqvist too. His new deal pays him $8.5 million per year. *edit* his cap hit is $8.5 million per year, his actual salary next year is $11 million. Not sure what you are trying to prove I never said he was anything more than a more important resource to the Blackhawks than Bickell is. If I wanted to argue for his signing which, again, I am not, the question would not be who is making more the question is who was available this past off-season to replace him? LittleHurt05
You can always depend on Luongo to help end a Hawks losing streak. Speaking of goalies, Ben Scrivens with your standard 59 save shutout.
