The Critic
If you want to be mad at someone, be mad at the person who handed the Cup to Belushi or the person who let Bieber into the locker room. I couldn't be less interested in these asinine "traditions". By now I've seen what seems like 500 people with no connection to the hockey team lifting the Cup anyway. You don't want someone walking on the Indian head? Don't put it on the f***ing floor. Simple as that.

About 50+ sports teams do this including HS and college. Watch the movie Goon and you'll even see it in movies.

Jake
The reason it's on the floor IS to inconvenience you. You have to actively think about what it means every day because it's there.

Soxbadger
Its disrespectful to everyone else. I hate to say it, but if you put a Picasso on the floor of your house and someone steps on it, thats on you. I bet they have hundreds of feet of velvet rope at the UC, if you think that the floor is so damn sacred, put ropes around it, then you can b**** when someone "disrespects" your floor. Its silly, and when you look at the picture of Bieber, not one of those guys were "getting mad" or anything. Im sure afterwards they told the Radio guys and meatheads of Chicago that they yelled at Bieber, but when it was happening Id venture to guess it was all: "Oh Mr Bieber why dont you stand there so you can get a great shot of the cup" "Oh Mr Bieber can we do anything to make your stay more comfortable" Someone had the time to take a picture of him actually standing on the logo. FAUXTRAGE!! If it was someone from the other team, or if the picture was of Bieber clowning the logo, sure that is something different.
Steve9347
The whole thing is just f***ing stupid. If Justin Bieber wants to see the Stanley Cup and take pictures of it - that's cool. If it's the end of the world that someone steps on a f***ing logo that's on the FLOOR then don't put the cup one foot behind it. Or, here's a better idea, f*** your stupid logo on the stupid floor. Next, please tell me that the players should not skate over the logo at center ice.

And the whole point of respecting the logo is because it is on the floor and it shows respect when you consciously avoid it. Hundreds of teams do the same thing so its not exactly unique to the hawks. In sports there are alot of strange rituals that show signs of respect, whether its touching a rock on your way down to a field to slapping a sign above the doorway. Not true, but continue your crabby posts in every thread. Hope whatever made you in this mood wasnt too bad. But when you get a chance ask a Hawks player what they think. Actually ask any athlete who has had a similar item that they respected from their team if its just a way to "haze people."
LittleHurt05
Ilya Kovalchuk retires from the NHL He had 12 years, $77 million left on his deal, although I'm sure he will get apid in the KHL. Devils get a $250k cap penalty yearly until 2024-25, and still don't have a 2014 1st round pick from the original voided contract.

zenryan
How is he suppose to know not to step on the logo? Why wasnt it roped off? I love a good story ripping that guy as much as the next but this is a little too much. Its not like he was kissing it or hoisting it. This story is getting as much news in the sports world as when the media was reporting him texting and writing Belieber in at the Anne Frank Museum. He already has agreed to a contract with SKA St. Petersburg, so we can stop the talk of him walking away from $77 million, he's just walking away from hockey in North America. I was always a fan of his when he played in Atlanta, such a talented player stuck in hockey hell.
