I can't think of any major leaguers who couldn't control their weight well enough to hurt themselves considering they have a whole training staff dedicated to keeping them healthy and the whole " I can make millions of $ if I don't stuff my face " thing going for them. We hear about Fielder and Cabrera , know how big Cecil Fielder got, see ST pics of Cabrera looking fat and yet they produce year after year.

So you're just going to worry about a perceived problem with a guy now ?

Let me think about it and get back to you.

You know, Bobby Jencks put on a few pounds.

I would LOVE that trade for the Sox, but I can understand Freese being the hang up from a Cardinals standpoint because thats a lot of f***ing around you have to do with your lineup when they seem to have gelled pretty well thus far into the season. I would be ok with Freese being dropped from the deal and Wong and maybe another minor leaguer being added, maybe Valera or Piscotty.

All I have to say, if this is true, don't let Freese be the hang up of the deal. Getting Adams in a White Sox uniform should be the main goal, as he is the impact bat this team needs. If that did happen, one of Konerko or Dunn would soon have to be dealt.

I would hope we can be flexible on Freese. It's a little much (a lot much) to expect a contender to trade their productive third baseman. If they're willing to include Adams, we need to be flexible here. Take Wong instead. That would be fantastic trade for us.

I agree. Just replace Freeze with Carson Kelly and Pisscotty

I did not know how good of a 1B he is, but that is good to know he can actually provide value on the field as well.

Adams has very good lateral movement to both sides. He fields the position quite well; surprisingly well.

His only issue on defense and I think it comes from lack of playing time is that sometimes he goes to try to get a groundball to his right and Carpenter would get it it. In those cases, the pitcher has to cover when Adams can't get back to the bag. Other than that, he has been just fine. It is also important to remember that STL has a groundball oriented staff so he wouldn't play if his "D" was a problem.

Well, he said it was a Fox sports station. We only have a CBS one and an ESPN one, as far as I know.

I am the "he" and I was quoting the poster over at Cards Talk.

P.S. Can anyone on the board get Bucket to attest to how true this is and, if so, how close it might be?

LOL this is hilarious. But this is what I like. Scouting the Cards hard. Give me Wong, Joe Kelly, and Adams and I'll be happy.

Actually, that was my word. The Cardinal anouncers gave his name and then went on to talk about his career and I took it from that that he was "prominent". My bad!
