#WhiteSox source has Oakland #Athletics in front of Jake Peavy sweepstakes. Peavy brought extra bags on trip in case, per @JJStankevitz.

If the Cards package of Wong, Martinez, and Kelly is true what would Oakland be offering to top that? Sonny Gray, Ynoa and what else? I'm just not a big fan of their position players in the minors with the exception of Russell.

Hi guys. Long time lurker. Thought this was interesting.

I wonder if this has anything to do with Colon and Biogenesis.

Peavy would definitely upgrade Oakland's already great rotation. I think Oakland has a pretty good chance at winning the division, so that would be nice for Jake as well.

This sounds like the Sox want an extra player or something from Boston/St.Louis. If the beat writer has that information at this juncture, he is supposed to have that at this juncture if you know what I mean. Driving up the price. When the Sox acquired Jake Peavy the first time I was at Bears Camp when news broke. I am heading to Bourbonnais tomorrow so we should have a deal by tomorrow, boys.

I believe those were rumored names, not a rumored package, otherwise Hahn should have taken that immediately.

As an aside, I think we can accurately surmise that Hahn is in fact GM. If KW were still making the calls he wouldn't have had the patience to wait this long.

Completely agree. Hahn is being VERY thorough.

Forcing TX to step up . Brilliant ! Why didn't I predict this rumor ?

What does Peavy to Oak have to do with Texas? You think that'll make them want Rios more?

Bah, if we're in aposition next year where we're fighting against the team we traded peavy to for a playoffs spot...I'll be thrilled because we're fighting for a playoff spot and the 2013 on-the-field-bullcrap stopped.

Maybe it's because I'm a Gordon Beckham fan and hope what we have seen from him this year is what we'll get consistently for the future butttt....I'm not a fan of Wong being the offensive player we get back. Yes he's showed more power this year in the minors than Gordo but I think once that wrist fully heals those 2 guys will be pretty much the same player.

Martinez and Kelly though I'm intrigued by. I don't necessarily think the Sox need to add pitching at all but it could certainly open up future trades to improve the team.

Gordon and Wong are not necessarily competing for the same spot

If that is what happen, guys like Micah Johnson, Semien, and Sanchez will have nowhere to play. Although Semien has been playing 3B lately

Who gives a f*** about those guys?

Not trying to be a naysayer, but one in the hand is worth two in the bush. If those guys look like MLB ready players, those are good problems. Don't skip out on a good player because you think a couple 22 year olds in A+ and AA might be ready in a year. I say this as someone that really likes Marcus Semien.

Get all the potential MLB guys that you can and figure out the rest later.

It's also going to be wrong to assume that every guy we get in these trades will pan out as well. You should assume that at least 1, if not more of them, will bust. Same thing with the guys we have.
