Wonder if someone said something to Avent with Rodon's pitch counts reverting back to an acceptable number.

Not entirely sure, but it sounds like his performance tonight was underwhelming according to most industry sources.

If they were both available, I wonder if the Sox would take Aiken or Kolek? It's funny, as I seem to change my mind weekly about who I would want them to take if they had the first pick. Rodon is the safer pick of the three, but who knows how his slider adjusts to the different baseball in the majors. I would love to see one of the big name catchers fall into the 2nd round.

I'm firmly on the Aiken train. Sorta kinda preferring an underslot Freeland over Rodon currently too. He's getting rave reviews. BA loves him. Getting a Chris Sale vibe from him. Lanky lefty, similar armslot, similar pitch mix too (though the change isn't stellar).

Sale's wasn't stellar coming out either. He had to develop that change up. Sale was all fastball slider coming out.

Lol that was launched. Pretty wild. But that could be nerves, pitching in an all star game.

I recall watching that game on MLBN. He was very wild.

Those kids shouldn't be subjected to that year round.

Sale's slider was his worst pitch coming out. Changeup was more polished. Didn't learn to harness the slider until we put him in the 'pen

My dream draft goes

Round 1:

Tyler Kolek - RHP

Round 2-5:

Jackson Reetz - C

Forrest Wall - 2B/OF

Spencer Adams - RHP

Rounds 6-10:

Kel Johnson - OF/1B

I wouldn't be mad if the Sox went overslot to draft Gatewood in Round Two, another guy who could fall is Monte Harrison because he is a two sport athlete and holds a football scholarship to play at the Nebraska so any team will have to go overlot to sign him.

If we land Rodon with #3 I wouldn't mind picking up his switch hitting battery mate Brett Austin(.323 /.393/.466) with our 3rd round pick, and if Casey Gillaspie falls to #44 that would make me very happy.

I'm achin' to get Brady with our 3rd pick.

AMIRITE??!?!?!?!?!?

I would say Brady's "Aiken To Be" the next great White Sox pitcher.

Eh?? Any other Replacements fans in here?

rounds 6-to-10 Dustin DeMuth, left-handed hitting third baseman at Indiana.

Has reached base in all but two games this season.

stellar glove

a senior so he won't go super high and he angered some scouts last season because the Twins took him in sixth round and he didn't sign.

but he's worth a shot.

In Thursday night's game he snapped a 45-game streak of reaching base.

Minnesota has pitched the Schwarber/Travis/DeMuth trio well in this series, they haven't done much so far.

I was kinda surprised DeMuth didn't sign last year, but it was the 8th round, which can be borderline for some.

Don't be surprised if he goes higher than the sixth round. Highly productive seniors can be quite valuable given the bonus caps. They don't have much leverage and are likely going to sign under-slot deals, which gives teams more money for signability players.
