flavum
All things considered, I think Danks' comeback has been a success so far.
Jerksticks
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 2, 2013 -> 09:04 PM) Not to be a smart aleck, but this is Adam Dunn we're talking about. Why pitch around him in any circumstance despite his nice total of bombs? I agree. I can't imagine an opposing pitcher or manager EVER being intimidated by Dunn. Does it look to you like he's had a different crouched batting stance since his return? And he's kept the same stance? Beckham may be one of the rare position players I'd like to keep. He may be place in the group with Sale to build around if he keeps this up...he just looks like a different person...demeanor-wise.

Given his age, which is still relatively young plus the fact that we're talking about second base which, c'mon there's not a lot out there, plus that glove of his, I'd like to keep him too..........I think. See how he would do batting 3rd, 5th, or 6th yes...i due time. It may be come to that point in another year or two...but I remember when he first came up people were talking about throwing him there...he just wasn't ready. Again...not sure what happened...probably just maturity...but the light has seemed to click on for him. He very well could be our future 2nd or 3rd hitter...moreso 2nd IMO. Jake
Can't get excited about Gordon until he hits for some power. Getting hot with slap singles isn't going to impress me. If he could become a good player, though...what a lift that would be for our franchise.

If he can get a damn hit when someone is on base is all I care about at this point. If he gets RBI's who cares with the team we have now.

If he gets RBI's who cares with the team we have now. I'm fine with that too not ,just from power positions like 3rd, 5th or 6th. He finally seems to be getting to the point of making contact ,getting singles and doubles. The crouch has eliminated chasing the high balls . Let's see if he can keep it up 1st, but I wouldn't object to him batting 2nd now.
Paulstar
I just hope that after Beckham hits a homer, he doesn't all of a sudden change his approach and start thinking he's a power hitter again. Edited July 3, 2013 by Paulstar

If you can drive in runs that is all that matters to me. He could hit 0 home runs but if he hits > .300 with RISP I am good with that.

Good God...dude's hitting .325 and it's not good enough...now they want homers too. Would you rather go back to hitting .220 and slapping a few homers every now and then?
