Bighurt52235
Was one of my favorite days in Sox history. It was the debut of Carl Everett and Roberto Alomar, and I'm a huge sucker for seeing stars put on a Sox uniform. Ken Griffey was a two month hardon for me. Most memorable thing about the game was Paulie's pinch hit HR off Everyday Eddie, his 3rd HR of the season (on July 2nd!). Just thought I'd give some food for thought. lasttriptotulsa
If I remember correctly, didn't The Big Hurt hit a walkoff hr in extra innings that game after like a ten pitch at bat?

Yep, it was an incredible game, and then Koch killed all the momentum the next game against Carl Crawford.

caulfield12
Steve Carlton at the end of his career... Canseco was fun in 2001, and Bo Jackson, of course. Sandy Alomar, Jr., was it 2 or 3 times? Charles Johnson in 2000. Of the last 20+ years, we'll have had all 3 sure-fire HOF'ers in Thome, Griffey, Jr., and Frank Thomas. Bighurt52235
Somehow I forgot about Frank hitting the walkoff that night. It was his 2nd of the game. And FWIW it was actually Konerko's 4th of the year, not 3rd. Coincidentally, the man behind the plate that night, like tonight, was Joe West. kev211
It's kind of scary how I can vividly recall this game. To the point of where I was and who I was with too. Memories are a crazy thing
