Joxer_Daly
Great finale. Lovely to actually win a close game, instead of some of the sucker punches we've suffered recently.

Real pity he didn't get the deserved win.

CaliSoxFanViaSWside
Last walk off homer against Baltimore 1996 by Robin Ventura. Last time a Sox pitcher had 10 or more K's on 7/4 "Lefty" Williams 1916.

greg775
Well, Dunn is officially good again. I know the stats have been good for more than a month now. Don't know what to say. Guess we should enjoy it. We all know he appears to be a great guy so I'm happy for his success. On paper, with a healthy Konerko, our lineup wasn't THAT bad entering this season, albeit weaker than last year because of the AJ for Flowers flip flop. We've got the good Dunn again. I have no idea if the Sox will get a ton for Dunn in the upcoming trade. I still would think teams would be wary since he can be so so bad. Dunn had three of our seven hits today. Good job by Q and Reed to allow no runs. Edited July 4, 2013 by greg775
southsider2k5
QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 4, 2013 -> 04:17 PM) Adam Dunn is the only reason this team is watchable So he should be tearing a muscle any day now, if 2013 keeps playing the same song that it has been. LittleHurt05
9th career walk-off homer for Dunn, only Pujols & Papi have more. What an un-clutch loser.

It's like it pains you that somebody on our team that you don't like is actually doing good. and right on cue there's the "we shouldn't have let AJ go"
Swingandalongonetoleft
QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 4, 2013 -> 03:17 PM) Adam Dunn is the only reason this team is watchable. Watching Dunn in recent times, I can't help but recall this thread that came along shortly after he signed ahead of the 2011 season. I was ecstatic that KW signed him FWIW. I was ecstatic that KW signed him FWIW. While I never liked how Dunn sucked at the plate, I could never hate the guy. He never ducked a reporter or acted defensive towards his poor play. You don't see a lot of athletes acting like that today.

Joxer is not from the USA and already caught a bit of light hearted flak for putting the day before the month (mostly from me ). I didn't note the sarcasm cuz I was in protective mode for Joxer. Swingandalongonetoleft
QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jul 5, 2013 -> 01:35 PM) While I never liked how Dunn sucked at the plate, I could never hate the guy. I don't think whether or not someone is good at baseball is legitimate criteria in choosing to either like or dislike someone. The guy under-performing is probably more frustrated at himself than his team's fandom is. It's not like Buckner went out there with the intention of whiffing on a roller hit to him, for example. I linked that thread because it's just as the OP said it would be- The Sox aren't playing for anything but draft positioning anymore, and just like clockwork, Adam Dunn is a home run machine again.
