QUOTE (Dizzy Sox @ Jul 4, 2013 -> 06:08 PM)
No Trayce Thompson, who was pulled early from last night's game. Hopefully he's ok...

Sox just optioned Jordan Danks, and I ready that Wise is just gearing up for his rehab assignment, could it be? I hope not, but you never know.

Snodgress has a no-hitter through 5 against Mississippi.

That gun has to be about 3-4 MPH off because they have him at 86 MPH consistently with the FB.

Barons playing in what look like Desert Storm khaki uniforms.

Dan Wagner continuing to hit well, carrying over from last night. 2 hits tonight, 3 last night. Wagner is undersized but runs well for a 3B.

Semien singles with a looping liner into CF, Wagner gambles (should have been out on a good throw) and gets to 3rd. Walker wildly strikes out with runners and 1st and 3rd, 1 out.

Earley still playing for Thompson. Good contact, about 385 feet to CF, but that ballpark feels big.

Broken up.

Saladino had a ball deep in the hole in short LCF and he rounded it off and couldn't quite make an accurate throw....the ball beat the runner, but he pulled Dan Black off the bag and he just barely missed him with the tag as he went around him on the foul side of the line.

Tyler's arm looks a bit short for major league SS, but he could play there 2-3 times a month.

Nice move by the lefty Snodgress, promptly picks the runner off, they actually handled the rundown well...Saladino chased him all the way across the field from 2B to the 1B bag, no unnecesary throws.

Through the top of the 6th, still 0-0.

Black and Saladino retired easily, Mitchell walks on a 3-2 count. 7/10 in steals. Barons leading the SL in thefts.

Short flares one into CF that drops, Mitchell going about 85-90% speed makes it to 3B and Short pulls into 2B behind him. Blanke check-swing come-backer to the pitcher.

To the 7th.

Jon Gilmore retired from baseball and has gone into training for the Navy SEALS.

Another single, Snodgress has also surrendered a walk....so 3 total baserunners through 7....inning ends on a very nice throw from Blanke to Semien to barely nab the basestealer at 2B. Nice arm. Haven't seen any throws like that from Flowers or Gimenez this year.

Wagner with a really nifty play at 3B, strong arm too, but very small for that position.

8500 sell-out at the Barons' game, 5th of the season.

Snodgress gave up a triple off the wall in RF that Walker almost caught with a leaping attempt....came back with a change-up to get out of the inning.

Snodgress stuff-wise is a little like Quintana. Doesn't have a dominant fastball (89-92), but his curveball has been his best pitch. Decent change-up.

Might be a candidate for the long-man in the bullpen next year, but probably will be starting in Charlotte.

NO MORE LEE GREENWOOD PLEASE!!!

Interesting. Supposedly, the White Sox believe more balls will fall in front of outfielders (at least at the minor league level) and order their AA outfielders to play shallower, don't use a "no doubles" defense. Maybe this also helps them better assess their ability to go back on balls, as well.

Going to the 9th. Still 0-0.

Taylor Thompson looks to be entering the game for BIRM. Was added to the SL All-Star team today.
