Any team out there needs a catcher? My friend thinks this callup means end of Flowers.

I sure wouldn't think we'd call Josh up to not play. I would have been happy to let Flowers have a chance to play a bit longer, but not with Phegley on the bench. If Phegley is here, he has to play.

The story by Dan Hayes at CSN says 3 more moves are coming.

Said that Jordan Danks was returned to Charlotte and Gimenez DFA.

Wonder if Trayce Thompson is also coming up?

Regime change!!!

Here is the link:

Last month, one member of the front office said Phegley is the best player in the International League this season.

Good work, Dan Hayes, lol.

Gonna guess Trayce got a day off for throwing his bat violently to the ground.

Second guess - corresponding move is Tekotte up after tonights AAA game.

You're right, probably Tekotte. He's been raking in Charlotte lately, and he's not starting tonight.

Thompson's not ready yet. Guess Trayce is just frustrated with his current 1/21 slide, and maybe not making the SL All-Star team.

He was getting under everything last night, popping up pitches into the air.

But Trayce is going to Charlotte, along with Herbek.

It would be great if they could dump Flowers sometime in the next month.

With the Sox out of it and teams starting to make moves., I don't see why they don't DFA Gimenez and bring up Phegley.

Congrats but didn't everyone see this one coming? We all expected Phegley to come up and challenge, right?

Yes. Once his Super 2 arbitration status passed which was I believe in mid June. I'm just surprised no one on the board took note of that date passing. There should've been a count down.

How good a prospect is Phegley? Is he Sal Perez good? Is he good?

From RotoWorld 5/31/2013:

A former supplemental-round pick in 2009, Phegley looks ready to make his debut. It’s taken him a little while longer than expected, in part because he has a condition called Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP), which prevents normal blood clotting. By all indications, though, Phegley is now in control of his health, which might explain why he’s having his best season.

Yahoo Sports 7/2 2013:

Since Phegley has almost never posted very good numbers at any level prior this one, the White Sox are playing things slowly. They want him to really prove that his start is no fluke and become fully comfortable with the pitching in Triple-A. He did slow down slightly in June, but far from enough to constitute a slump. He still owns a .317 average, a .962 OPS, and a team-leading 14 home runs.

Now 15 HR's.

That was never a consideration in him and his call-up
