Cerbaho-WG
From Rosenthal: Sources: #WhiteSox’s Thornton on long #RedSox list of possible bullpen targets. #Braves also inquired on Thornton; interest “limited.” Figure this can act as the Matt Thornton rumor thread, as he almost certainly will be traded. 2nd_city_saint787
Bryce Brentz please. Probably a lot more realistic than Bradley. He's got big time power and can take over for Rios if he's traded. Edited July 10, 2013 by scs787

southsider2k5
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 10, 2013 -> 04:08 PM) no way, he's paid almost like a closer, it would be a huge overpay just on salary alone, not to mention surrendering anything of value prospect-wise. It is also midseason, so his number for this year is only $3 million, not $6 million.
daggins
The price is probably high right now because there is still 3 weeks to the trade deadline and, unlike the Marlins, we're not just looking for salary dumps. As the deadline gets closer, the price will get more reasonable and some team will have a more pressing need and a trade will get done.
OilCan
And, as much as some want to bash Thornton, he's a lefty who throws 95mph. Teams value that plus his experience. Edited July 10, 2013 by OilCan
