I just looked at the schedules and for the time being im not really concerned about the Royals. I have the twins going 20-12 down the stretch, which would mean the sox need to go 19-12 to win the division. I will leave it up to each of you to decide if you think we can do that. It looks VERY challenging though.

Looking at the Twins remaining schedule, they have 7 games against the Sox. Those, my friends, are the only games they have against anyone that can even remotely be considered as contenders. They have 18 games remaining against teams that would be playing spoiler ( TX, ANA, CLE). And 7 games with the Tigers, who are only playing dead.

What it boils down to is, that we are the only team that we can count on to slap some L's on the Twinkies. If we can't take 5 out of 7 against them, it's going to be a real struggle to hold them off.

Actually, i had the twins winning 4 of those 7. Unless we just go on a total roll against good teams, or the twins choke against bad ones, we got problems. People can say theyre tired of people mentioning the schedules, but these are the facts.

The respective schedules are definitely part of the equation.

I can't put a reason why or a stat to support it, but I think that Anaheim and Texas are going to help us significantly against the Twins and Royals.

They are not going to lie down for anyone.

The Rangers have been one of the hottest teams since the All-Star break and smoking in August. The Angels struggled after the break but they are coming around, and I'm sure they don't want to finish last in their division after winning the WS in 2002.

It's just a hunch.

That said, this division will be the Sox to win or lose. They must take care of thier own business.
