Jake
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 23, 2013 -> 06:12 PM) Wilkins out again Strange. Is it just me, or is he losing at bats to Mike McDade and Travis Ishikawa? Edited July 23, 2013 by Jake
fathom
QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 23, 2013 -> 11:13 PM) Strange. Is it just me, or is he losing at bats to Mike McDade and Travis Ishikawa? No way they're benching him to get others at bats. He's most likely banged up.

jthunder93
Patrick Palmeiro hit a home run and a double today for Bristol. Thurman Hall was 2-for-5 with a double...although, he did strike out looking on a full count with the bases loaded to end the game. Earley, Thomore, Ayala, and Stoner all got hits. Nick Parent continues to struggle...batting average down to .106 after going 0-for-4 with 3 K's. That's 3 strike outs in 4 of his past 5 appearances. Jeffry Santos also had an awful day at the plate. Also was 0-for-4 with 3 K's Also, it seems like Ayala is finally getting more at bats...he's played in 3 straight games. GGajewski18
Anyone else impressed with Jacobs so far in Birmingham? He has shown he can hit so far and has real good at bats and driving in runs.
danman31
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 23, 2013 -> 09:38 PM) Anyone else impressed with Jacobs so far in Birmingham? He has shown he can hit so far and has real good at bats and driving in runs. I'm not so sure I'd call it impressed, more like perplexed. He has a hit in each of his 7 games with the team, but today was also his first day without a strikeout. He has a couple walks, which is fine, but only one extra base hit (a double). The average is strangely high, the power bizarrely low and the strikeout rate is worryingly high. I've seen worse starts to the AA adjustment so I guess you can be impressed. BigHurt3515
Micah Johnson was 4-6 tonight, batting .337. He is showing he was no fluke in low A. Really hope he keeps this up as he moves to AA and eventually AAA
