He hasn't done anything worthy of a standing O. He had barely 1 good season for us, and that season didn't even get a playoff birth.

And he pitched like s*** when it mattered in that one good season. End of last year, he had two bad starts vs. DET, and in the third one he couldn't even finish the sixth inning. Needed a big win against the Angels, and he got rocked. Kinda similar to his limited postseason career in San Diego.

But god forbid you say something bad about Jake Peavy the competitor. I love having him on the Sox, but I can't stand his apology society that says he does nothing wrong.

Maybe the roughly 1,000 innings (counting post-season) that Verland threw from 2009-2012 are showing effects.

It's weird though because he still can live in the mid 90s & get to 100 at times.

Ball must not have the jump on it like it did.

He had to lay off the PEDs.... :D

I've never been a Peavy guy, but jeez, the guy has worked hard through some stuff. If he gets pulled from the game, you stand and applaud the guy. Or don't.

I do find it funny that someone with a reputation for not showing up for the big game is so coveted by teams dreaming of him pitching in the postseason.

Don't forget his great starts that don't count because they weren't against Detroit

Man oh man the Nats gave up 4 runs to the Pirates in the top of the 9th & allowed them to tie it.

Pirates looking to sweep the 4 game set......Season from hell for the Nats after a GREAT season last year.

I don't know about you all, but I can't wait for more Dylan Axelrod!

:crying

If it means we trade Peavy for a great haul and then aim for a top 2 draft spot....bring it on Dylan!
