daggins
Still very small sample size for Jacobs, but any kind of success for a guy like that is a positive. Also Semien cannot be stopped.
Cerbaho-WG
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 26, 2013 -> 10:26 PM) By my calculations, for the month of July, Semien has a slash line of 370/500/710 .370/.500/.716 That's insane. Since the ASB, Semien has an OPS of 1.600.
Rowand44
QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Jul 26, 2013 -> 09:28 PM) Overtaking Sanchez as Sox top infield prospect? Id say yes and by a large margin.
Jake
Semien showing off that 2/2 present/future power today

Comment From John Marcus Semien has been the best player in the Southern League. He’s 22 and seems to do everything above average offensively, exceptional plate discipline. Any reason this guy gets no love? What’s your take? 12:01 : Partly he gets overlooked because he’s in the White Sox system which is generally considered to be fairly poor (although there are some intriguing guys in there). I’m not sold on him being an everyday guy… but he could be a solid backup and possibly a second division starter. I don't buy this back up talk at all. If he was in a system like the red sox or cubs he would be getting so much love and the majority of these "prospect experts" would be gushing over him. Keep it up Marcus, no one gushed over Paul Goldschmidt or Matt Carpenter either and look where they are. I hope the sox take a page out of the marlins book and promote him from AA. Especially if alexei gets traded. Maybe that's not best for his development but I'd love to watch our Mike Trout, but better, hit in the majors. Back in 2010 I was talking this dude up and said the Sox need to trade for him after that monster 35 HR season. Less than 3 years later, the dude is an MVP candidate. Fair enough but "prospect experts" were incredibly skeptical.

flavum
Nice play for Semien last night at 3B. http://www.milb.com/multimedia/vpp.jsp?content_id=29180265 There's a link to Hawkins double where he tried to stretch it to a triple. Bad play, but at least he was hustling.

That was the best season of his career. AZ claimed him the next year but I dont really think we tried trading him
ShandyMan
Jacobs playing well. We finally have some exciting IF prospects between Micah and Semien. If we can get one to work out and be an above average everyday player i'd be so happy.
