One thing that scares me about rebuilding, the Royals. All those highly ranked prospects suck. Gordon is the best thing they got out of all those top 10 guys and he's about as average as can be.

I don't think we'll be going with the Royals type of plan. Our rebuilding of the farm system won't last more than next year's trade deadline, if that long

Their best highly ranked prospect Wil Myers is smokin the ball all over the park for TB.

I just think its reminder to all the prospect nerds. AA production doesn't always translate. I remember people starting threads about Moustakas. "Just wait til you see this guy." Yeah, I've seen him. He sucks at Major League Baseball.

I abhor seeing a closer pitching in tie game/down a few runs/before the 9th inning situations, but at this point (with the team being all but mathematically eliminated and all) I like it. It's not the same hot seat as it would be if the team was alive in the standings, but it's gotta count for something (experience wise).

September call-ups ought to be fun as well.

Gordon, Moustakas, Myers, Hosmer and Cain. One of them is tearing it up. The rest are average to garbage.

It's a numbers game, the more great prospects you have the better odds that someone turns to be a star. Add 2-3 more really talented guys to the system and there's a better chance that one or some of these guys will turn out to be solid major leaguers.
