Kind of interesting

I was checkin' out some statistics and such on ESPN's website, and here is how we have fared against the other teams so far in '03.

We have :) records against...

Anaheim (4-3), Baltimore (4-2), Detroit (9-7), Kansas City (7-5), Minnesota (7-5), Toronto (6-3), Chicago Cubs (4-2), San Diego (2-1), and Los Angeles (2-1)

We have :( records against...

Oakland (4-5), Seattle (2-7), Texas (3-4), Arizona (1-2), and San Francisco (1-2)

And finally, we have  records against...

Boston (2-2), Cleveland (8-8), and Tampa Bay (3-3)

------------------------

So with the exception of Seattle, we're pretty close to .500 against every team, with more winning records than losing records. If the Sox can hold this trend for the rest of the regular season, we should win the Central. :D

I don't know, simply because the Twins play some pretty easy teams down the strecth.

If you ask me the Sox just need to play good baseball at the level they are capable of. If they do that, no team in the central will stop them. The problem is they've yet to show they can do that on a consistent basis.

Hopefully they will show that they can plya good baseball at home and on the road, against good teams and bad.

Agreed. Jas, I seem to agree with many of your thoughts and opinions.

So do you agree with me that hands down, if this team lives up to its potential then it should be competing for the World Series?

I sure believe that they got all the talent they need. The question is whether that talent shows up on a consistent basis. Kenny has done a hell of a job putting this years club together.

Yes. I think KW has done a wonderful job. I think the sox have as good of talent as anyone in baseball. For the first time since 1983, i think they have the talent to win the whole thing. Will they? I dunno because I question their mental strength and intelligence.

Looking ahead I like our 3 man rotation of E-Lo, Mark, and Bart. I believe we could get on a roll and be there in the end. Every team has at least one weak area. Ours is the bullpen for certain and possibly too much power and not enough average. I haven't checked but I'd be surprised if we didn't lead the Majors in solo homeruns.

Another way to say it, and just to use this smiley is we have too many drummers and no bass players. :snr
