Yea I'm in a smaller 2br as well, probably 850-900sqft, but its in a great area (Damen and Greenleaf). Super quiet over here, just a bit far from the L though.

Damn dude. You live like a few blocks from me. I'm at Damen and Rogers.

LMAO

Awesome Rock! I grew up there, definitely a good place to raise a family.

One benefit to living in Rogers Park is the insanely cheap rent, our 2br got 'raised' to $1185 a month (from 1150). Most of my friends in River North-ish area pay close to that per person.

Not even kidding I had to take my listing down because it was starting to be a bidding war and we havent even close on our house in OP yet.

A colleague of mine is tempted to post incredibly high rent prices for his condo just to see what he can max out at.

Where are you buying in OP? I lived at Jackson and Wesley back in the day (right near Fox Park).

I lived at Harlem/Washington for 4 years and Lombard/Madison for a year, but that was 10 years ago.

Oh fancy, on the North side :P

I looked everywhere as long as it was west of ridgeland. My wife is from there so she was my guide. Close to transportation with a big lot, both are valuable in that town it appears.

I'm still very tentative about moving to the "burbs" but ill give it a shot.

Its a Farmhouse built in 1883, very typical of the historic area of Oak Park where it has a front deck, siding and shutters. I am planning on adding an addition and doing the kitchen before I move in. The thing about the area is that the lot is a very important piece because they differ quite a bit from block to block, however this one is 60x190 which is large. Its also located very close to Frank Lloyd Wright's home and studio which is very cool.

I'm a huge Mickey's fan too. I'm also a devout Alpine customer.

I only went to Mickey's a few times in the years before we moved, but I remember their ribs were pretty damn good. And yea, Alpine is the s***.

Also, not to far from you is Russell's BBQ, delish bbq beef sandwiches.

My wife just told me about that, said its legendary. I was shocked I was never told about it before since I am a BBQ fiend.

Ew. That place smells like a stereotypical grandma's house. (lots of old timer regular there) No thanks.

Out in my neck of the woods, huh? And none of you mentioned Gene & Jude's yet? I'm disappointed. :P

Eh I wasn't a big fan, I hate that they don't have ketchup for fries (which is a must for me personally). The hot dogs were very good, but their tamales sucked.

Maybe it's because I grew up going there, but I've never had an issue with the interior. It's very old school in there.
