According to Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun the Orioles are out on Peavy and covet Bud Norris and Sale.

One in the hand is worth two in the bush, so to me the conversation starts with Bundy AND Gausman plus 2 to 3 lottery ticket prospects. Thoughts?

You can get a current TJ patient for a future patient. It could come down to the battle of the surgeons.

What a joke. We're trying to move an aging, high tread worn veteran that still possesses good talent and the ability to help someone while getting younger and building for the future and the freaking Orioles want part of that future?

I say never say never...but it would take a king's ransom. I mean a ridiculous overpay.

I'm open to trading Sale, but the price would be so goddamn much no decent GM would ever accept it.

Sale is an ace, with a good contract as well now. Even if you take the top 5 prospects from another org, you'd be playing the odds that maybe 1 of them turns into an all-star. If I'm trading Sale, I want to play the odds that 2 of them turn into perennial all-stars.

In order for the Sox to sell it to their fanbase, they would need to get Machado.

True, probably. Even though I am skeptical of how beloved Sale is by the average fan. People just don't tend to fall in love with pitchers...especially when they grow such pathetic beards

I'm sure 29 other teams covet Sale.

28 of those can't pay for him.

The other has him.

Yeah, not to be a dick, but this is a silly thread. Of course they covet Sale. Every team in the majors covets Sale.

If the Orioles were serious, it would take Machado to get him. Otherwise, they'd need to offer Bundy, Gausman, Schoop, Rodriguez and Marin for me even to consider it. None of it will happen.

True. Sale needs to learn from Kane and go with the mullet if your beard growing skills are so weak.

Would people do: Dylan Bundy, Kevin Gausman, Eduardo Ridriguez, Jonathan Schoops, LJ Hoes, and Adrian Marin? I think the Sox would at least think about it. That completely depletes Baltimore's farm system. It would give the Sox 3 top of the rotation starters. Baltimore would never make that deal. That's what it'd take though, at least.

Aside from including major league talent there's no package the Orioles could possibly put together that would even get me thinking.

We had this discussion in the other thread but you need a young all star position player and then some to start talking.

Yea someone to get kids around here excited. That's why I think Trout is the only target here.
