flavum
http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?c...mp;ymd=20130731 Kanny playing.
QuickJones81
1-4 for Kanny has been awfully depressing at the plate lately. Those are 4 guys (May, Anderson, Coats, & Barnum) that the system could really stand to see be succesful. To see all of them take a downswing at the same time makes you wonder what's happening coaching wise, or lack thereof in Kannapolis. On the positive Bucciferro has turned out to be someone to keep an eye on. Throws a ton of strikes.

flavum
QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 31, 2013 -> 03:41 PM) Keith Law had been saying he had played a lot of 2B this year Yeah, I thought he was a SS only guy. Actually 37 games at low-A this year...30 at 2B, and 7 at SS.

Jake
Marcus Semien out too. I wonder if we had a group of guys hanging out in Cleveland in case we made trades?

Balta1701
Jacobs first out was crushed, line drove to the wall in right center. Solid catch by sczur.

fathom
QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 1, 2013 -> 12:28 AM) Marcus Semien out too. I wonder if we had a group of guys hanging out in Cleveland in case we made trades? That's very possible, and great news if he was who they were going to call up to the majors. fathom
It sure seems like Semien wasn't just given a day off, as they could have used him to ph in the 9th.

BigHurt3515
Wise and Tekkote just need to leave. Get Garcia and Jacobs up there and hit. or Thompson.
Balta1701
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 31, 2013 -> 10:50 PM) Wise and Tekkote just need to leave. Get Garcia and Jacobs up there and hit. or Thompson. Jacobs is hitting AA pitching solidly but he's still got a very raw game. Couple misplays in the field and one on the basepaths that I caught. Thompson is still clearly learning how to hit AA pitching. He's gone through some slumps, taken his lumps, and he's learning. these guys are right where they should be for the next month and a half. Jake
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 1, 2013 -> 08:02 AM) Jacobs is hitting AA pitching solidly but he's still got a very raw game. He's gone through some slumps, taken his lumps, and he's learning. these guys are right where they should be for the next month and a half. I've been very impressed with Thompson's ability to play really, really bad for long stretches of time and not let it doom him. There have been many times in his career already where he looked absolutely doomed. He keeps chugging along. Most impressively, on a year by year basis, he's consistently lowered his K rate - this year is his biggest drop and he needed it.
