I didn't see or hear the people going after MLB, but you can bet that if Adrian Peterson or Aaron Rodgers were ever busted for PEDs, the NFL fans would be signing a different tune as well.

I honestly don't think Peterson was juicing (although asking the question isn't taboo), but I think the last 5 years of Ray Lewis's career, especially 2012, is suspect

Helmets are a part of it as well. Guys with no helmets were much more likely to try and avoid any contact with their head when there wasn't anything to protect it.

I just read an article that said the same thing about boxing gloves. Bare-knuckle boxers were much less likely to hit their opponent in the head because it hurt more. With gloves, they don't have to worry about breaking their hands on someones noggin.

That's what I thought. They also test for synthetic testosterone. Pretty sure the NFL only does urine tests, which only catches people who are sloppy, and the NBA's is a total joke.

The NFL is starting blood testing next year I believe. HGH cannot be detected by the urine tests so that has been the PED of choice in the NFL for awhile.

Really, you think it's gotten worse? I think it's just gotten recognized. 20 years ago a guy with a concussion gets sent back out to play unless he's a QB.

There is anecdotal evidence that PEDs cause changes in the brain which makes it more susceptible. It started with Lyle Alzado claiming the PEDs caused his brain tumor.

No, it was just deer horn powder. Which is not illegal. (I can't get the green to work on my mobile)

So A-Rod's people leaked the documents implicating Ryan Braun & Francisco Cervelli? Maybe that lifetime ban idea wasn't so crazy after all.

I read that John Lackey had some thoughts pertaining to this. He's starting against NYY tomorrow- would the umpires preemptively warn both benches?

Did MLB leak that information, and if they did, why did they use imformation from a guy they then suspend 4 times more than anyone else and say LYING is part of the stiffer penalty. No doubt ARod is a chooch, and I used to stick up for him, but what MLB is doimg here is so wrong.

You mean there's no honor among thieves?

It just seems odd MLB is patting itself on the back "busting" these guys, yet are trying to make ARod PNG among his peers by leaking he is basically a snitch, and they previously said he tried to withhold imformation, and that is a reason he got 211 games. Did he withhold info or provide info to bust others? Seems MLB wants it both ways and wants it all out there so every hates ARod. I am just for equal treatment. I really don't think if Jordan Danks did the exact same thingsas ARod he would get more than a 50 game suspension.

I really think ARod's suspension will ultimately be reduced significantly.

Does it surprise anyone that Miguel Tejada got busted for amphetamines?

Along with the Big 3 in the rotation, that was the biggest glaring omission from the MoneyBall movie. The juiced up MVP winning infielder.

So ARods lawyer is saying that the Yankees tried to get the surgeon to botch the hip surgery, among other things(like withholding a MRI so ARod wouldn't know how bad his hip was)

Seems like he really is putting himself out there for a slander lawsuit

I have no clue how a professional organization could have the lawyer of one of their players publicly accuse them of that and then keep that player in the lineup.

Alex Rodriguez's lawyers contacted the Major League Baseball Players Association earlier this month to formally begin the grievance process into claims that the New York Yankees have mishandled his medical treatment since last October's playoffs, sources familiar with the communications between the two parties told ESPNNewYork.com.

One of Rodriguez's attorneys, Joe Tapocina, alleged on Saturday that the Yankees put Rodriguez on the field during the playoffs even though they knew he was playing with a bad hip. Rodriguez's side also contends that Yankees president Randy Levine told the surgeon who performed Rodriguez's offseason hip operation that if Rodriguez never saw the field again Levine would be fine with it. Lastly, there is the contention from last month that the Yankees refused to let Rodriguez play because of what they diagnosed as a Grade 1 quad strain. A-Rod declared he was healthy enough to play.

Levine and the Yankees have denied all the allegations.

Rodriguez's attorneys contacted the players' association via a phone call within the last two weeks, sources said. Notifying the union is the first step that could eventually lead to a formal grievance between the Yankees and Rodriguez in front of MLB arbitrator Frederic Horowitz.

Horowitz is already set to hear Rodriguez's appeal of his 211-game suspension for violating MLB's joint drug agreement and collective bargaining agreement. That arbitration is not expected to conclude until November, at the earliest.
