It's too late now. The Sox just did nothing but lose, lose, lose. No changes. I meant a figurehead coach like Brett/Thomas if Sox weren't going to fire Robin.

BTW. Why does nobody criticize Manto this year? Walker was basically ripped on a daily basis.

I wouldn't mind frank around - maybe the team as a whole would learn more about working counts and pitch selection.

There was a pretty lengthy argument about him in yesterday's game thread.

Let's look at the bright side- if we continue to get worse (which it appears we will) we'll get the #1 pick in the draft next year and hopefully be able to get a very nice position player who is near major league ready. Miami continues to win and hopefully the Astros can too and secure our position. I have no idea if there is a Bryce Harper type talent out there in 2014 but it sure would be nice if there was....

The big prospect is Carlos Rodon, a left-handed starter.

You remain the best fan in White Sox history. I remain one of the worst cause I prefer to blast this joke of a team for its ineptitude. Day after day, loss after loss with nobody accountable. At least the Royals brought in Brett to turn things around. If we weren't going to fire Robin we could have brought in Frank as hitting coach. Just to have him in the dugout like Brett. Brett was a figurehead for KC. He stuck around two months and at least it was a change. The Sox?? Nothing.

I can't believe how bad this team is. Sox are losing home games at an alarming, alarming rate to go with the automatic road losses. EMBARRASSING!!! Fire somebody at least!

Nobody gives a s*** about your Royals.

Gee, sorry I can't make a comparison. They brought Brett to the dugout and they got to .500 and now are 2 over.

We got to .500 and have lost about 90 percent of our games since. Shoulda brought Frank in in a similar Hall of Fame move to re-energize the team IMO.

Houston lost. (my god their bullpen is terrible, there's no way the sox are worse than that team) I guess on the bright side is Minnesota won, cause they were starting to suck alot as well. Separates them a bit from the pack.

You draft lovers have it made. You can still enjoy the rest of this pathetic season. A few of us are in misery on a nightly basis over the Sox results since we do not care about the draft.

Losing 100 games and getting Rodon is better than 92 games and someone else.

It's not draft loving, it's recognizing the best opportunity to get talent.

Acting like any of us enjoy this season is asinine. Yet the Sox are still in a better spot than the Royals.

Um... Let me clarify....

It's not easy to see the Sox lose... but really at this point, hoping for the best possible draft position is the only choice.

Our team sucks... wanting them to lose is really just something called ACCEPTANCE.

Eases pain. Makes something difficult fun and comical.

Sorry, nobody will EVER be able to convince me the Sox are in better position than the Royals this season. The Royals are .500. We are 30 below. It's been agonizing. And as far as No. 1-3 draft picks. Yeah they've really helped the Royals the last 25 years. Do you have a crystal ball on Rodon? He could suffer an injury and never pitch. You just never know. Besides if we're picking that high, some of us might rather have a stellar HITTING prospect. I'd rather win and just take the best player available.

I just think it's very dumb to write reports of how the Astros' game is going on here. Who gives a s*** about the Astros' rally in the sixth inning of some game? Not me.

Acceptance? This is a sport where one's favorite team plays every single day almost from April til October. I'll never accept losses and getting owned by the Cubs and teams in our division. I hate them all and want to WIN. I won't accept defeat. If it eases pain of some to follow the inning by inning fortunes of the Astros, go for it. I'd prefer not getting embarrassed every time we play a Central Division team. Four-game sweeps are a joke.

The White Sox have their future rotation almost set. Have a few yoyng position players thst can compliment a lineup and only about $60M committed to next year, not counting returns for our more expensive players that will likely be traded this offseason.

A major market with plenty of money to spend and a good rotation to build on is better than the s*** fest that has been the Royals.

George Brett quit as hitting coach nearly 2 weeks ago.

Greg, I don't think you are a bad guy. I know you genuinely want the team to do well. We all want the team to do well. Taking a step back in this case to eventually reach sustained success is necessary though. That's all I will say. The definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over and expecting a different result. Every time I see one of your posts I want to respond. But it is insane to respond because nothing is going to change with you. I would stop arguing fellas. Just going to give yourself a headache.

Royals only scored 5 more runs than the Sox last month. Their batting average was 11 points lower than the Sox. They had 41 less total bases. Their OBP was just 4 points higher. Their slugging% was 16 points lower than the Sox.

The Royals .247 batting average in July was the worst they had all year. The Sox put up a better mark in June, July, and were only 2 points (.245) away from that in May.

..It's not like he came aboard and they suddenly started hitting more... KC has committed 30 less errors than the Sox, this is why they're having the better year, not George Brett who statistically has made their offense worse.
