CaliSoxFanViaSWside
We get a 2nd look at Rienzo as the Sox try to snap a 9 game losing streak. Cinch it up and hunker down.
Chisoxfn
What is sad is how great this pitching staff has been for this team to have lost 9 in a row. That said, if we are going to lose, I want them to be in low scoring games. It is paramount that these young arms develop into really good pitchers and continue to improve. That will be the key to this club getting competitive (and back into the playoffs) sooner rather then later (as it will allow Hahn to focus his attention on the lineup). elrockinMT
Let's see if this rookie of ours can win a big game. But, as has been said before pitching is not the problem with this team
flavum
The Sox have never lost every game of a road trip that was 7 games or longer. Today is the day.

Chicago White Sox
This is a big start for Rienzo. With Erik Johnson back at AAA, there should be some competition for the 5th spot in the rotation. Rienzo has an opportunity to take hold of the spot if he pitches well the rest of the way. Any extended struggles and I think we see Johnson get a look, at least by September. Look forward to his start and hope he does well.

fathom
I think Rienzo works faster than Buehrle.
Dick Allen
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 4, 2013 -> 12:27 PM) I think Rienzo works faster than Buehrle. It is one thing I think the Sox should emphasize on the lower levels. I think working quickly not only helps the pitchers keep a nice pace, and keeps fielders on their toes, I think it really disrupts hitters. GGajewski18
Reds losing again early to the Cardinals. They were looking for a right handed bat. Think Rios could fit if he gets to them or through waivers

hi8is
The subtitle of this thread is asinine. We need to LOSE!!! I'm hoping a shutout 7 inning performance by Rez followed by a run given up in the 8th. We lose 1-0.
