Can I ask something?

This has probably already been pointed out, but since I've been gone......

Where are all the haters who said "This team has no chance", "Just give up", and "When does football season start?" I told someone that if the Sox got back into the race that I was going to dish out some serious crow. So, I'm dishing it out right now.

I wasn't a hater but an admitted doubter.

You have to admit at times we've played pretty passionless, even the

players have said so.

I will always be a fan but this team has confused the hell outta me.

I hope we can win it.

I confess I'm still a doubter. We've played too horses*** on the road this year

to make me confident.

I give credit where it's due, though.

Several players have hung in there and had great seasons.

I'm especially pulling for olivo, garland and crede.

Yes, there is a long way to go.  But the point, I believe, was that we are back in the race.  None of the doubters thought this would happen.

Give 'em hell, witesoxfan!  :cheers

I dont think anyone ever said the sox wouldnt remain in the race. I think people said they wouldnt win the division. Any average team could remain in this race and the sox barely have a lead. I dont think he has room to be saying I told ya so, just yet.

I guess we're all so passionate about this ballclub and how much it would mean to the city of Chicago if we finally won a World Series. Early on, I must admit I doubted if we were gonna finish about .500 let alone win the division. We were calling for KW's head to be put on the chopping block and for Jerry "I don't know how to manage a team and bullpen" Manuel. Paulie was hitting so bad, and even Mags didn't have the best of starts. But once this team gets going, we can beat ANYONE. We're a streaky team and not very consistent. We can win 6 straight (home to Texas and Anaheim) and lose 6 straight (at Anaheim and Texas). I still don't think Manuel is the best manager for this club, but if the players showed some more heart and hustle early, we could easily be 10 games up. Any thoughts?

I am/was a doubter, and given how this team performed for the first half of the season, how could you not be? They got swept by Cleveland AND Detroit, were next-to-last in the AL in hitting, their big-money closer couldn't close a door, and the mislabeled Ace seemed to only bring his A game when he felt like it.

I would say anybody who watched that first half and was still optimistic about our chances at the time is either clinically insane, or a corporate shill for Reinsdorf.

I'm not about to aplogize for doubting this team. We've at times looked like the 27 Yanks. And at other times looked like the 01 Devil Rays. I'm still dissapointed that we're not running away with this sorry ass division. And as far as calling anybody out. Wait till we've won the division before u start all the I told u so's....

I dont know how many posts I have made in the last 6 months or so, but what I do know is that never once have I been anything but optimistic about the White Sox chances to make the playoffs and win the world series.

Until they are officially eliminated, I hold out hope even if they are 6 games back.

::shrugs::

I read the boards every day and I rarely post because of the fact I represent the minority of optomistic fans who even in the worst situations believe that their club will suceed. Its often hard to post in a postive way when so many are negative, but each person has their own beliefs and way of releasing their frustrations.

To many people on this site are far to dedicated to the White Sox for me to ever want them to "eat crow" or to be humiliated for believing the White Sox would not be in it at the end.

All I can say is that a little optimisim can go a long way, and perhaps if we all just looked a little more on the bright side then it would not be so damn frustrating when they lost.

Anyways,

Im glad the White Sox are winning and hopefully they win the World Series.
