The mother of a 30-year-old man who died Monday night after falling about 65 feet from the upper level stands at Turner Field in Atlanta, Ga., said her son was a life-long Braves fan. Ronald Homer of Conyers, Ga. plunged onto a parking lot during a game between the Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies at 8:55 p.m. ET., Atlanta Police spokesman John Chafee told NBC News. Mother Connie Homer told The Associated Press that she spoke to Ronald during the game when he informed her that the rain was starting to let up and he was preparing to go back to the stadium. Homer was taken to Atlanta Medical Center where he died from his injuries. It was unclear what caused the fall, but it was believed to be an accident, investigators said
