iamshack
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 05:10 PM) True. So with AJ, the team usually underacheives, collapses, or gets embarrassed by a division rival. Without AJ, they just flat out suck. Got it. I love how you dismiss all the teams he played on that were good, including a WS champ, a division winner, and a few others that went down to the wire. Noonskadoodle
Honestly with how good Sale is 4 runs should be good enough. Just an off night & this time around he can't blame the O. ......Adam just missed that one, out in front a tad.

Still have some time to make up for it. I see a Dunn homer off Cotts & a Paulie homer off Frasor in the future (:
Whitewashed in '05
QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 03:53 PM) Pretty impressive that AJP is batting fifth for the Texas Rangers. Obviously he's not washed up. It's apparent Sox made a big mistake in letting him go. One could make a case that our record would be better if we had a decent catcher who could hit. Haven't you said this exact thing before? Sounds kinda like bringing up Ozzie...

Noonskadoodle
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 10:01 PM) Did Hawk really just say Crede was on his way to becoming one of the best 3B in MLB history? If he stayed completely healthy he would have certainly been one of the most BELOVED Sox players of all time. That guy was one of the BIGGEST FAN FAVS I have ever seen. Man I miss that guy. Just provided so many memories I will never forget, from his defense to his major clutch hitting. Crede & Dye were def 2 of my favs.
ChiliIrishHammock24
Phil Rogers @ChiTribRogers 15m U.S. Cellular is fun place to be tonight. LittleHurt05
QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 08:45 PM) I love how you dismiss all the teams he played on that were good, including a WS champ, a division winner, and a few others that went down to the wire. I love how you think one player's presence in the clubhouse can prevent errors and dumb mistakes. The Sox have been pissing their pants in crunch time yearly since 2006, despite this godly presence in the clubhouse. AJP is an above average hitting catcher, catches a great game IMO, and always gives 110%. That's why he is a solid baseball player, not some magical motivational ability. Noonskadoodle
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 10:10 PM) Hawk really hates De Aza. The Sox should definitely skip a start or two of Sale's down the stretch Come September there is no doubt in my mind I think they do. Erik Johnson will be up here taking some starts & with the way Rienzo has been pitching he is going no where. We all know Sale is the Ace. Let's see Danks continue to round himself back into old shape & see Hector, Jose, Andre, & Erik make a lot of the starts down the stretch battling it out for next season. IlliniKrush
QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 08:13 PM) Honestly I think Tank did the right thing. He looked right at the Ump who was RIGHT THERE & threw his arms up for a second & gave him the look. He then began to panic since when he looked at the Ump he made no decision. TERRIBLE call from an Ump in PERFECT position. Except he didn't do the right thing. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 08:20 PM) That's the silliest thing to come to such an absolute "period" conclusion on. Double digging means its a live ball ? Show me that in the rules. No, it's really not. I'm a licensed high school and college umpire, and that's the rule. Period.
