bigruss
QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 4, 2014 -> 03:07 PM) After Nunn's "incidental" contact. Yea Nunn got away easy on that call, he maybe should've gotten a flagrant for that. However, love the toughness of the freshman in that game. They didn't back down but also didn't instigate farther when they could've easily. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jan 4, 2014 -> 06:45 PM) 2 open scholarships but I would guess they would take 3 more if it is the right 3 (i.e. Charles Matthews). They will want a PG and big with the 2 open ships and would obviously take Matthews as well. Yup, Matthews has to be target #1 imo (Brunson would be right there if we had any chance). After that we need a big, someone like Moore, Thomas, Bragg, or this Sharma kid would be great to balance out the class.
LittleHurt05
QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 4, 2014 -> 03:07 PM) After Nunn's "incidental" contact. Newbill deserved his ejection, but Nunn probably deserved a technical or something, blatantly ran into him. Do like to see a freshman show some toughness though. Penn State is really really bad at basketball, that was ugly
He_Gawn
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 4, 2014 -> 06:23 PM) Aaron Jordan commits. Good recruit and Crean really wanted him. Heck of a pick-up for Illinois. Crean was all over the kid, but became fairly obvious he wasn't coming (a lot like Malachi Richardson) when Blackmon re-committed. With Fischer leaving, Crean's main focus has to be on big men. Need them bad with the backcourt of Ferrell, Blackmon, Robinson, and Johnson in the future. Also Carlton Bragg (isn't he more of a big 3/stretch 4 or am I mixing him up with someone else?).
RockRaines
Maybe Thad will let Crean borrow Bragg for a game or two? ;)

Think he ends up at UK though. Would think Crean will wait it out a bit and wait for some coaching changes and see who becomes available. Also would be ideal to grab a 5th year transfer from somewhere. They'll be another transfer by years end from a SF/G... Of that I'm sure. I can't see Vonleh staying, but if he does, a very, very big year will be expected again for the team.

Brian
Dave Sobolewski was so confident and cocky at Benet. At NW, he looks the opposite.

ZoomSlowik
Sobolewski seems to be getting worse. He was capable as a freshman, okay considering he was carrying too big a role last year, and god-awful this year. He was never an athletic marvel, but he can't even make open shots anymore. I thought he had fallen into the 14-20 range. If that's the case, and with a presumably weaker draft class the following year, I could see him staying. But top 10? He should go.
