Jim Fainter
Yanks sent Jeff Weaver down today to make room for somebody.
Chisoxfn
I'm gonna assume he cleared waivers. I know one thing, if they ever fully waive him. I'd let him clear completely and the very minute you could sign him at the minimum, I'd SIGN him.

Capn12
minimum??? isnt borass his agent ?????lol....... Luckily, BorASS wouldnt have any say in that situation...that would be like 2 good things happening: getting Weaver at minimum price, and not letting Boras making any $$ from it
Jordan4life_2003
It just pisses me off the Yankess got the kinda pitching depth to where they can afford to send a talent like Weaver down. It's still amazing how this guy has fallen off. I was willing to see Crede go if we could get him. Skip that thought now. This was in 2001 by the way...lol

Capn12
Dont know too many multi-millionaires playing ball in Class A Tampa though!!! That surely doesnt happen too often.
DBAHO
If u aren't psychologically strong minded enough to handle the big stage, u just hipe u don't get traded to the Yanks or Red Sox. I mean Boston's new relievers r struggling, and Weaver hasn't never looked the same when he went to the Bronx.
cwsox
I'm gonna assume he cleared waivers. I know one thing, if they ever fully waive him. I'd let him clear completely and the very minute you could sign him at the minimum, I'd SIGN him. that is really odd to me Jas because why would you want to sign a guy who is not in control of his own emotions, is a head case, is not a team player, and has washed out on the Tigers (where they miss him not at all) and the Yankees - this is a guy who has never done a thing still riding his "potential" label because no one wants to admit that "potential" means shtt. It is what you do, not what you gonna do one day if the moon is in the 7th house and Jupter aligns with Mars. I said Weaver was not worth it when he played in Detroit where I saw him all the time and I will still say it. He is not worth it. Oh even at the minimum? Unless he's had a total personality transplant - which I doubt and need to see evidence of - he will disrupt with his ego any minor league teamn you'd sign him to and there is no room on my 40 man roster for him - there is no one I'd cut for him - because after 37 years in the majors (ok, a slight exaggeration) and you've done nothing, that says you are fated to be in an SI "where are they now" article: he once refused to sign with the Sox and then washed out on the Tigers and Yankees and joined the lengthy list of "can't miss" prospects who missed big time.... he now is on the wrestling circuit in Hickstown, Utah. southsider2k5
BAHAHAHAHA! :fyou Jeff Weaver. This is what happens when you piss on your teammates and then can't back up the fat check that you big mouth writes. Enjoy the minors loser!
