When they're losing we gotta hear about em and now that were both winning we gotta share with them. It's really sad. I think the Cards and Stros r both a couple of levels above the duds... As predicted, the Sox fans are particularly rowdy, storming the field and carrying the team off on their shoulders after the first game, won by the South Siders 2-1 amid snowflakes. Sox fans refuse to give balls hit into the stands back, as is the custom of the day. Cub players need police escorts to their carriages after games. Only a rope separates fans from the outfield, giving the public opportunity to hurl spit and other projectiles at players. In the final, deciding contest, one fan kicks Cubs rightfielder Wildfire Schulte in the pants as Schulte goes back for a fly ball. No one was arrested: The kicker was a cop, in full uniform.
