Texsox
I just noticed my school library has a class set and decided to teach it next. Has anyone read it? What did you think? I am looking for some expository text and a book that talks about kid's rights and the court cases that brought those rights seems like a solid pick. Jake
Wisconsin v Yoder is a good one to think about the establishment clause, free speech, right to education and how all this stuff is balanced. There is also an element here where you can teach how a court case is used to justify slightly different things: in this case, this has been used to argue for supporting all homeschooling
farmteam
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 11, 2013 -> 02:41 PM) Tinker is the big one, bong hits for Jesus was a big case a few years ago too. Yeah, Morse (bong hits 4 Jesus) was about the restrictions schools can place on speech at non-school events, I think. Haven't read it in a while. Texsox
I am looking forward to the debates. Should be a great book to keep them interested leading up to the Christmas (I'm in Texas, we can call it Christmas) break.
