Losing is a habit. I guess they will show up next year if the team wins the division.

Yost is a dope.

The crowds have been good. Just because they are in first doesn't mean everybody's going to pack the park to see the Twins for the 19th time on a Tuesday night. What a dummy. Blame baseball, Ned. Your crowds have been pretty good. Tuesday night was one of those things; they'll get 20,000 tonight to see the Twins for the zillionth time.

That Price/Smyly deal has been pretty lateral outside of TB shedding cash. I picked up Smyly as soon as the deal was made and have been reaping the benefits.

Can't even say lateral because of the negative impact on their outfield defense, forcing Hunter and JD Martinez to cover even more ground when they're both below average outfielders at this point, and Rajai's not exactly much to brag about, either.

It was a move made for the playoffs by Detroit, but you gotta get there first.

Yeah, but you also don't bet on the health of your pitching just cratering as soon as you make the deal.

That health was already visibly cratering. Anibel Sanchez was already shelved, Verlander hasnt been good all year long, and they were scrambling for anyone to put in the bullpen.

Greg will be happy.

The Royals tried to win the game with Holland pitching in a tie game in the Top of the 9th at home, didn't score in the bottom of the 9th and now Bruce Chen's pitching like he does against every team not named the White Sox.

KC will need another dramatic comeback off Perkins or will lose a game to the Tigers, who somehow got a quality start out of Lobstein and beat Kuroda.

8-5 now. Royals chances for another miracle finish this week rapidly diminishing.

26-9 now over their last 35 games. Reminiscent of the White Sox 26-5 run in mid-2010.

Yeah I'm watching with some Royals fans who want Chen released. I remind them, "You need him for the games against the White Sox."

I guarantee you no matter how pathetic he is, he'll go 6-7 vs. Chicago and beat us. However, he won't get the chance. Chen is finally about out of baseball. No way KC can start him vs. the Sox. Hilarious. Sox still get to be shut down by Guthrie, however.

Royals designated LHP Bruce Chen for assignment.

Chen gets the boot after being pummeled for six runs in an extra-innings loss to the Twins on Thursday. The left-hander had been used sparingly since returning from the DL, so the move isn't terribly surprising. He'll pass through waivers easily given his $3.25 million salary.

That's a qualifier to enter the Sox pen.

Yost is getting nailed by Royals fans on twitter, etc., for batting Nix in 2 crucial situations in the loss, instead of PH Willingham. I'd blame Dayton Moore AND Yost. Yes it was ridiculous to bat Nix, who is horrific, but why in the hell did Moore acquire Jayson Nix?

I wouldn't be surprised if Cleveland sneaks in and wins the division. They have the best manager of the 3 and just as good talent as KC at least.

Willingham tried to warm up in the sixth...stiff back/spasms couldn't go

Nix has already played for two teams this year...the royals are his third

Cleveland re-enacting last year's final month run of incredible baseball.

What it is with the Indians? 2005...2007...now the last two seasons with dramatic comebacks at the very end of the year when pretty much nobody's watching their games in September.
