DirtySox
Miggy back to 1B, loads of money saved. Extending Scherzer?
Dick Allen
Damn. I was really looking forward to Prince growing old with the Tigers,

daggins
Extend Scherzer, sign Nathan, maybe even McCann.
Andy the Clown
It doesn't really matter. As soon as Miggy starts to decline, they're done.
daggins
QUOTE (Andy the Clown @ Nov 20, 2013 -> 08:33 PM) It doesn't really matter. As soon as Miggy starts to decline, they're done. Apparently they will just trade him when this happens.

Eh, no. There is more to that team than just Miggy. Edited November 21, 2013 by DirtySox
brian310
Looks like they free up money to sign Miguel long-term and I guess ship him to first? Kinsler helps fill a hole at second.
Buehrle>Wood
Unbelievable. I hope they are paying a ton of cash.
justBLAZE
Huge trade (no pun)! I really wanted Tigers to be stuck with the contract. I think as of very RIGHT NOW this is good for the White Sox but like others said it allows Tigers to make moves they couldn't make with Prince on the payroll. iamshack
I hope Fielder vetoes it...if the Tigers aren't sending money to Texas, this is a huge coup for them
Andy the Clown
Eh, no. There is more to that team than just Miggy. If he were a league average player, they'd be an 85 win team.
flavum
QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 20, 2013 -> 07:40 PM) I hope Fielder vetoes it...if the Tigers aren't sending money to Texas, this is a huge coup for them He already waived his no trade. The league has to approve it for money trading hands.
fathom
Also likely hurts the Sox with regards to Kinsler hitting our LHP better than Prince would. Kinsler seems to crush the Sox, but I haven't checked the stats.
Baron
QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 20, 2013 -> 07:40 PM) I hope Fielder vetoes it...if the Tigers aren't sending money to Texas, this is a huge coup for them I honestly dont know what the Texas Rangers are doing
Dick Allen
Wasn't Kinsler a high school teammate of Brian Anderson?
sircaffey
QUOTE (Andy the Clown @ Nov 20, 2013 -> 07:41 PM) If he were a league average player, they'd be an 85 win team. Miggy will never be league average. Injuries are your only hope.
flavum
Honestly, this deal doesn't impact the White Sox. Until the Sox turn over two-thirds of the lineup, and give a couple other guys some seasons of experience, they're an under .500 team. Andy the Clown
I honestly dont know what the Texas Rangers are doing Kinsler is a horrible player at this point, and he's not cheap either.
iamshack
So apparently there is money going Texas' way, but not sure how much as of yet. It has to be $30-40 million, no?
zenryan
QUOTE (Andy the Clown @ Nov 20, 2013 -> 09:41 PM) If he were a league average player, they'd be an 85 win team. well whenever he regresses to "average", they'll have even more money to spend on other players now. Or to lock up current players.
