witesoxfan
The Giants outrighted him to the minors and he elected free agency. He's been inconsistent in his career, but he's still got pretty good stuff and could be a nice addition to the Sox. Not only is he still relatively young (29 next year), but he fills a need on the Sox and is the type of guy who can be dealt at the deadline for a decent prospect as well if the Sox so choose. Personally, I'd try and sign him to something like a 2 year, $6 mill deal with a team option - $2.25 mill this year, $3.25 mill next year with a $500k buyout or an option for $4.5 million. Balta1701
"That's exactly what our roster is missing, left handed pitching!" Seriously, not a bad idea with Coops history. Maybe a late offseason signing if he lasts a while.

Jose Abreu
Ha, remember him doing well vs us on the Twins, although maybe the numbers say differently. I wouldn't mind him as a second option.
Jose Abreu
I know Crain's a righty, but I'd love to have him back. Reed, Crain, and Lindstrom plus whichever other Webtricka guy comes up (am I forgetting someone?) and we would be set for RHPs.
witesoxfan
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Nov 26, 2013 -> 11:19 PM) I know Crain's a righty, but I'd love to have him back. Reed, Crain, and Lindstrom plus whichever other Webtricka guy comes up (am I forgetting someone?) and we would be set for RHPs. I think Crain signs with a contender to rebuild his value. I'm fine with Reed, Jones, Lindstrom, Webb, and Petricka from the right side. I primarily suggested Mijares because the Sox lefties right now are, like, Veal and Leesman which, needless to say, leaves much to be desired. JoshPR
I think he's worth a flyer, nothing to lose if they do

CWSpalehoseCWS
Wouldn't hurt to provide some competition for Veal and Leesman. As long as the asking price isn't ridiculous, I say sign him up.
