ILMOU
The "smoking gun" video is a mashup of Rodgers highlights and scenes from Brokeback Mountain.
Kyyle23
If it is true, it will be an interesting thing to watch. This isn't a nobody, this is one of(if not the) best QBs in the league. This isn't a Jason Collins 12th man on the bench
caulfield12
OK, so is Aaron Rodgers gay? Right now the proof is pretty flimsy. Rodgers and Lanflisi are close friends but there is no proof that they had a romantic relationship. There is also no proof that Rodgers was one of the players who was planning on coming out last summer. Aaron Rodgers isn’t married at the moment but he has reportedly been dating Destiny Newton. Engagement rumors circulated about the two last year but Rodgers never confirmed the news. So here’s what we know about Aaron Rodgers. He’s 30-years-old. He plays for the Green Bay Packers. He will make his return to the field today against the Chicago Bears. He has a friend named Kevin Lanflisi. Some people think that Kevin is Aaron Rodger’s ex-boyfriend. Some people think that he’s just a friend. Basically, this rumor is still just a rumor. DukeNukeEm
Its a little bit more than what's linked. The twitter of the dude sounds like he broke up with Rodgers and is heartbroken over it. We'll know soon enough as people are probably digging. Deadspin would love to out him.
cabiness42
If Aaron Rodgers is gay does that mean Shea McClellan is guilty of a hate crime?
Kyyle23
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 30, 2013 -> 11:04 AM) If Aaron Rodgers is gay does that mean Shea McClellan is guilty of a hate crime? If he is incarcerated, do the bears get a compensatory pick?
lasttriptotulsa
I don't know if there's anything to this or not, but from the way it looks, the two sites that have been reporting this are newnownext and queerty. Judging from their home pages it looks like they both really push the LGBT agenda so I'm guessing they're really stretching to make this a story. southsider2k5
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 30, 2013 -> 01:32 PM) Personally I don't care. Yeah. I can't wait for the day when this isn't news.
Steve9347
This has been a rumor for awhile, and I don't care. If he doesn't want his sexual preferences to be public (if true) and they become public, that's too bad.
iamshack
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 30, 2013 -> 11:40 AM) Yeah. I can't wait for the day when this isn't news. I actually sort of hope it turns out to be true. I think Aaron would make a good advocate.

Indeed. I personally couldn't care less but it'll certainly be a gigantic story if it's true.
caulfield12
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 30, 2013 -> 08:38 AM) caulfield, is this going to be your winter Puig? No. Actually I was a bit shocked when yahoo.com (at least when I pulled it up here in China) had it as the 3rd or 4th story down...the one that I originally posted. If it's true, it's definitely going to force not only Packers' fans but also sports fans in general who think the best players (maybe the best NFL football player today) must all fit the stereotypical hetero/macho/tough (think Joseph Gordon Levitt in Don John) to finally countenance the idea of a QB/team leader being gay. Progress. Edited December 31, 2013 by caulfield12

ChiliIrishHammock24
It's unfortunate for him that he players for a team called the Packers. His middle school friends will tear him up at lunch next semester!
Harry Chappas
Will be interesting to see how the country folk react up in Wisco. The rest of the story is really, well, who cares.

zenryan
In today's world with social media, I doubt such a high profile athlete could keep something like this under wraps for this long. then again, didn't he use to complain about not bring able to go out in public without it being plastered all over twitter and Facebook? MexSoxFan#1
I always thought it was strange that the Green Bay Packers just had a "G" as their logo instead of "GB"...turns out it stands for something else. Seriously though, who cares. I also agree with the poster who said that if it comes out that it's true, more than a few Bears, Lions and Vikings fans will make our fanbases look like a bunch of homophobes.
