2014 Catch-all Anything thread

Did some quick "research". The Twitter pic was not posted (uploaded) by USAirways. The link actually takes you to tweet by someone else that contains the pic. So, it looks like someone copied the URL and accidentally pasted it in the tweet.

I wonder if they meant to report the tweet and accidentally posted the URL instead.

I'm guessing they were going to "report" it to their buddy and didn't realize their clipboard still had that link and not the support link they usually paste on Twitter

That was my exact thought too.

That's not what he's looking for.

Closest poker room to downtown Chicago is Horseshoe Hammond, which is an excellent room.

Harrah's Joliet, Hollywood Joliet, Hollywood Aurora and Grand Victoria Elgin all also have poker rooms.

Pretty much all of them should have 1-2 NL Hold'em and 3-6 Limit Hold'em cash games going at any time. Most will also have NL Hold'em tournaments 3-5 days a week.

EDIT: Horseshoe Hammond and Harrah's Joliet use the Bravo online system, where you can see exactly what games are running and how long the wait lists are:

Hopefully you told them what your consulting fee was.

It was a church/school I worked at for 7 years. I told them what I remembered. But, I basically told them maybe they should ask the guy that filled in my position after I left. I'm sure he changed a few things. He was a "volunteer" because they wont pay him. Then after a year, he left.

Ah, that is a bit different.

Yea, but it was a bit ballsy to call after 20 months and ask for help.

Back story: After I left, a new pastor took over. After a few weeks at my new job, I called and said I made a mistake and wondered if I could have my old job back. I was told that my old position was being phased out and being replaced with a group of volunteers. (That group of volunteers still doesnt exist after 20 months) Now they are calling me and asking for help. (the new pastor is also a bit of a jerk too)

Thanks brother. I was suppose to go last Tuesday but I bailed, glad I did. Next time I'll tell those clowns to go to the Horseshoe. I've been there a couple of times to their poker room, it's really fun.

I have a friend who works for the World Series of Poker as a dealer. He started out just dealing the WSOP in Vegas May-July and dealt at our local Horseshoe the rest of the year. However, the WSOP folks really like him and offered him work at any of their circuit events (which run all over the country pretty much year round). So now he is only home 10 weeks out of the year and is on the road dealing WSOP events all over the nation year round. If you need the scoop on any poker room in the US, he probably knows it.

OK, this partly has to do with sports, partly with music, and partly with life, so I'll just post it here, and if it gets enough discussion the mods can make it its own thread and decide where to stick it.

I was home from work sick yesterday. Took a break from sleeping most of the day to watch the last 45 minutes or so of the Boston Marathon. Now I've been known to watch a lot of different sports--football, basketball, baseball, soccer, hockey, golf, auto racing, tennis, curling, lacrosse; but running has been something that I've never really had an interest in.

But because of everything that happened last year, I figured there was some human interest so I decided to watch. Was very glad I did. The dude that won had two traits that made him a very improbable winner: he was 38 years old, and he was American. OK, he was Ethiopian born and a naturalized citizen, but still an American hadn't won since 1983. Boyleston Street absolutely went bezerk. Apparently this Meb guy is very popular with the fans and winning the year after the bombing was straight out of a Hollywood script. Hearing the national anthem being played for the winner was special.

A while later I flipped over to ESPN to see what they had to say about it. They were in the middle of playing this:

, which was apparently a part of an E:60 special that they did on the Boston tragedy. I pretty much lost it.

Texting Driver Who Slammed Cyclist: I, Like, 'Just Don't Care'

"I just don’t care because I’ve already been through a lot of bulls*** and my car is, like, pretty expensive and now I have to fix it," she told a responding officer two days after the Sept. 20 collision. "I’m kind of pissed off that the cyclist has hit the side of my car. I don’t agree that people texting and driving could hit a cyclist.

Once upon a time, I would be 100% sure that this was bogus after reading that paragraph- but not anymore.
