The OS roster had him 74 OVR I think, I bumped that up to around 79-80 and upped his potential a bit.

When I get it, I'll be making sure to bump him up like crazy.

Just took a peak at Abreu's attributes. Despite being a 77 overall by SCEA's version, he does possess very good POWER attributes. They gave him 84 PWR vs. RHP, 90 PWR vs. LHP. The closest comp I saw was Jose Bautista, who had 88/90. In fact, I think Bautista, Miggy, Stanton, and Chris Davis may be the only guys with better power ratings.

It appears Jose loses a lot of his overall rating to contact 54/58 (ouch), plate vision 34 (way too low) and plate discipline (50).

I did this to some of his ratings.....

Contact vs R - 54 -------> 60

Contact vs L - 58 -------> 65

Plate Vision - 34 --------> 60

Plate Discipline - 50 -----> 70

Fielding Ability - 54 ------> 65

Fielding Reaction - 53 ----> 65

He turns in to an 84 OVR, which is more reasonable, IMO.

Getting crushed in my first game, but man, this game has some really slick animations. I wouldn't say the graphics are amazing, but the ball physics and the movements are more fluid. I absolutely love the camera they have now for hitting and fielding. While on one hand it makes it hard to judge where a ball will land, on the other hand the hits seem more realistic. I am seeing balls tail more, knuckle, groundballs with topspin, and slicing line drives.

Although, I am getting my ass kicked with Quick Pitch. I love the feature, but it really makes it hard not to walk people. I am pitching with Noesi, and I've probably walked 5 batters in 3 IP so far. I am getting killed 7-1, bottom 3rd. I crushed a HR foul with Abreu, and then struck out. He is 0-2, 2 Ks. Konerko just tallied my first run with an RBI single off the wall in LF, scoring Eaton.

Eaton, I should add, is super realistic. Looks like like him, similar mannerisms, it really feels he is playing. They even managed to get Beckham's follow through on his swing down pat, which is weird. I hit a deep flyball to LF, and on his follow through he did the 1-handed bat point like Gordo does sometimes when he gets around on a ball and pulls it.

EDIT: I lost 7-3. I ended up turning down the pitch speed like I usually do. I outhit them 10-7, but those walks killed me. Abreu ended up 2/5, RBI. Alexei got my lone HR. Cleto/Bellisario pitched the final 7 innings and did well. I still ended up walking 8 batters, striking out 9. Only 2 of the 7 runs I allowed were earned. LOL, thanks Alexei and Beckham.

I won Opening Day 5-0. Sale went complete game with 11 k's. Abreu doubled in his first two at bats. After the first one the announcers commented on it being his first big league hit and they showed the Twins player toss the ball to McEwing who than handed it to a Sox player. Thought that was a cool touch, don't remember seeing it in past versions of the game.

Are you guys playing with dynamic difficulty or a set veteran, all-star, hall of fame difficulty?

God I suck at hitting. Got shut out by Travis Wood yesterday. I had the bases loaded with nobody out in the 8th down 4. I got a 3-2 on the quick-count and swung at a terrible pitch with Semien. De Aza fouled out. Then Gordon hit into an inning ending force out. That sucked.

Not sure he should get a 70 for discipline. He does K quite a bit. 60-65 seems more appropriate. Vision should get a big improvement. His power in the OSFM rosters are fairly low and I tend to agree to the attributes SCEA gave him there.

You guys want to do an Online Fantasy draft Franchise w/ OSFM Hybrid Rosters v. 1?

If you don't know the Hybrid version of OSFM rosters, it's this.... - http://www.operationsports.com/forums/mlb-...tial-setup.html

They are planning on having this done by Sunday. I can probably get a couple other guys to join in from another forum as well. Draft on Monday night maybe? I've never done a fantasy draft before, so I am not sure how long it takes. From watching videos online, it looks like you do 25 rounds. So with 4-6 teams it may take us like an hour?

Anyway, who wants in? I'll be taking the Astros.

Also, doing a draft it appears you can actually go like all 90 RDs or so for the draft. LOL. We won't be doing that. I am think we do 30 RDs, that way we all get to take 5 prospects we want, then the rest are randomly assigned. I'll be honest. I picked the Astros solely because I thought I would inherit their awesome farm system. But either way, I love quirky parks, so the hill in CF will be fun for me.

Alright, I got 2 other guys who are in for an Online Franchise. Both of them are good for Monday night draft.

Good luck with fantasy drafting. Had one for a league last night. The lag made it unbearable.

Impossible to scroll through menus and stuff, and now that's it's over it won't even apply to the rosters, so we might have to do it again. It's a disaster.

Hmmm....Well we aren't even having ours tonight anymore because 1) We want a few more participants. Everyone that said they wanted to do it here has yet to speak up, so we are only at 3 guys right now including me and the 2 from the other side, and 2) The OSFM Hybrid rosters have been delayed right now. May be a few days until they get it ready.

What's the difference between the OS Full Minors and OSFM Hybrid rosters?

More faces, details, corrections made, plus since the White Sox got screwed on their OSFM minor leaguers, this Hybrid version will fix it by actually including prospects like Tim Anderson, Tyler Danish, Micah Johnson, and a few other big names that somehow were ignored by the random OSFM contributors to the Sox system.

Ah, I'll delay starting until it's released.

You said a few days, right?
