Rowand44
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 22, 2014 -> 07:29 PM) Gotham is off to a great start. Art direction is top notch. No fear at all to delve deep into the comic book universe unlike SHIELD which was terribad. Good to hear, I'm excited to watch it tonight.
MEANS
I thought Gotham was decent last night, a little forced in the beginning to set up the story but overall, pretty solid.

Yeah, seeing the part that we already knew about played out again was bit tiresome but it had to be done. Otherwise can't complain.
Kyyle23
QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Sep 23, 2014 -> 02:07 AM) So I'm not a comic reader, and my knowledge on Batman and most superhereos is limited. So I looked up some stuff on Wiki and noticed that "Barbara Gordon" turns in to "Bat girl". That would be cool, except Batman doesn't even exist yet and Barbara is a grown woman. Also, Batgirl is supposed to be the daughter of Commissioner Gordon.....sooo...?? Also, I had no idea Batman ever had a child either. Comic history can change from artist to artist. Cannon changes for shows like this, the show "Smallville" didn't follow the history of the comic very closely, because they needed to stretch it out for the show

It's like making Robin a character where he is actually Batman's uncle. Would seem bizarre.

Because that's what she is supposed to be, and given that Jim is supposed to be relatively young in the series, it doesn't make sense that he would have a kid older than Bruce Wayne Edit: after reading Gordon's wiki, his wife (Barbara kean gordon)and daughter are both Barbara. His daughter becomes Batgirl. So far they are staying cannon
ChiliIrishHammock24
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 23, 2014 -> 03:05 PM) Is Barbara Gordon the daughter of Jim? Because that's what she is supposed to be, and given that Jim is supposed to be relatively young in the series, it doesn't make sense that he would have a kid older than Bruce Wayne Ok, I think I've finally gotten it figured out after reading more Wikipedia. So apparently Commissioner James W. Gordon has a wife named Barbara Gordon. They end up having a son together, also named James Gordon. Then they get divorced and Barbara Gordon ends up giving birth to a girl, and they ALSO name her Barbara. And THAT is the one that becomes Batgirl. So they each named their kids after themselves. What a confusing and dumb thing. So the Barbara Gordon we see now is the mother of the Barbara Gordon who becomes Batgirl, and the mother of the villain that becomes James Gordon. They're still trying to cast Colin's partner. Gotham was 2 hours last night? Hate that. Nm, Comcast screwed up run time on demand. Steve9347
I just discovered this awesome show on Netflix called "The X-Files", I believe. Some weird show about unexplainable phenomena. They must be trying to rip off Fringe or something. It was filmed in 4x3 (weird), but it still looks good! Anyway, if you get a chance to check it out, you really should. I can't believe I've never given it a shot before this morning! /green

Kyyle23
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 24, 2014 -> 08:13 AM) Not the most intense episode but lots of "setting up plot lines for the whole season". The tone and style of this episode was a 180 from last year. No cheesy lines, no "we are family", the CGI for the Absorbing man was really well done, and the story moved significantly. I also had a little Raiders of the Lost ark feeling when they went into the storage facility looking for the box. I am very interested to see where that metal McGuffin goes. ChiliIrishHammock24
Just like we all figured, or at least me, the next "event" that Utopia held was absolutely flooded with people who wanted to be on TV. They had about 80+ people show up. And I am sure they will get more the next time they decide to do it was well. Also, Taylor is so god damn dumb I almost feel sorry for him.
