Brian
QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Nov 12, 2014 -> 11:03 PM) Homeland, yeesh, what an almost show-breaking ending. If that had actually ended the way we thought it would, it would have been a big f*** YOU. Still weird though. Also, I think Saul might kill himself. I don't even know why I still watching. I'm not really enjoying it. Daines is just so good at being crazy.
TheTruth05
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 12, 2014 -> 04:50 PM) Unless Gemma died, I'm not interested. I was pretty conviced Sutter was gonna let her walk but with last episode's development I can't see any other outcome for her.

Yea they were getting kinda ridiculous with all the people dying and overall too much going on but last episode felt like their earlier stuff QUOTE (chw42 @ Nov 13, 2014 -> 10:58 AM) Anybody watch South Park yesterday? I was confused as hell during the last part of it, but it was hilarious nonetheless. Indeed it was hilarious,at the end I was genuinely confused as to who was using the Oculus. The customer service guy being the same for all companies was hilarious.

southsider2k5
The wife and I just watched the series over the last month and a half, and I wanted to jump in now. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 5, 2014 -> 02:40 PM) As to Boardwalk Empire, I'm disappointed that we won't get to see the Rothstein assassination and maybe a couple more, depending on exactly when they pick up the series in 1931. But, they also might cover it in a flashback. He was my favorite character in the whole show. So many arcs could have been done with him, and I was really sad that they didn't do anything with him, but did stuff with a guy like Chalky. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Sep 17, 2014 -> 02:08 PM) 2nd episode of Boardwalk was much better than the snoozer premiere. Sucks they jumped 7 years though and skipped events like Rothstein's assassination and St. Valentine's Day Massacre. As well as some storylines that just disappeared as a result. Yeah, I loved how they were setting up for the VDay massacre, but then skipped it. The Capone actor did a great job. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Oct 13, 2014 -> 01:49 AM) Was pissed about the death of Van Alden , was confused but not that upset about the death of Chalky . But holy s*** is Narcisse just so f***ing boring. Terrible, terrible villain and is slowing down an already slow season. I feel like this show is crawling to the bitter end. Van Alden was a fun character as well. Narcisse had a place, but he would have been dead long ago, simply because he was black, and as racist as that era was, someone would have shot him for just that reason. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 13, 2014 -> 06:12 AM) Every season has gone this way. A few painfully boring episodes to start out and lay every storyline out on the table. Then they flip a switch and motherf***ers start dying left and right, nobody is safe. Yeah, it isn't always predictable, and even when it was, they did great job with it, such as the actress dying in the bombing instead of him. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 13, 2014 -> 08:35 AM) Van Alden's was great. Chaotic. It's too bad this is the last season and they did the big time jump. More Van Alden at home would have been entertaining to watch. Chalky's death I didn't really get. I can understand the redemption angle, but he has no guarantee that Narcisse will keep his word, so why do it that way? Wouldn't Daughter have just as good of a chance to make it without Narcisse around to block her? Now she's just his prisoner again with no one like Chalky to protect her. And I disagree about Narcisse being a bad villain. He was good last season. He couldn't be (and shouldn't have been) the cartoon villain like Rosetti was in the third season. Also, I wasn't a big fan of the flashbacks in the first few episodes, but now I'm glad they're there. I like seeing how Nucky turned. And the guy playing Nucky as a young-adult has Buscemi down. Unreal how good he is with his mannerisms. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Oct 13, 2014 -> 09:25 AM) Yeah, I'm fine with the Nucky flashbacks, and yes, that actor just complete nails playing a young Buscemi. I had to look him up to see if he was related or not. I commented to the wife that both the people playing young Gillian and Nucky were awesome. They did such an incredible job. southsider2k5
QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Oct 20, 2014 -> 12:22 AM) Next week is the series finale of Boardwalk? Wow. So obviously Nucky and probably Eli and most of Nucky's gang is going to die. Not sure yet what will happen with Will, or with Gillian, besides being saved by Nucky. Also, I feel like this Joe Harper person has to come back and play some role. No way he is just gone now. I've seen some rumors online that think Joe Harper is actually Tommy Dormody. But the timeline for that would make Tommy 13 or 14, and Joe Harper looks to be around 18-20. I guess Joe Harper is the name of a character from Tom Sawyer, so people think Joe Harper from Indiana is just a fake name. Would have been really cool if it was Tommy, but the timeline just doesn't add up. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 20, 2014 -> 11:40 AM) Pretty sure he's just a kid that reminds Nucky of himself, so he sent him away to prevent him from leading his life. Yeah, I guess that one because they wouldn't have introduced the kid into the show if he didn't have a role to play in the ending, and then they kept going back to Gillian at teh same thing. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 20, 2014 -> 12:26 PM) Yeah, another way for Nucky to try and redeem himself. It really sucks that the show is ending and that this last season is compressed. Getting Capone and the rise of Luciano and Lansky could have been entire seasons. Instead it's basically taken care of in 1.5 hours. I think they're also making the characters act in ways to match the plot instead of the other way around. I have a hard time believing Nucky would just show up to that meeting and expect Luciano to keep his word. These are guys that have tried to get you wacked multiple times. Why not call up the other New York boss and have him come with his X amount of goons and trap Luciano and Lansky right there. Also, it's hilarious that a song "My Girl's p****" was (1) an actual song and (2) a popular song. They also made it a long time in real life, so it is hard to take them out. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 21, 2014 -> 07:13 AM) Given that Gillian is re-entering the picture, I could see the kid still turning out to be Tommy. Although if it was him, it doesn't make much sense why he hasn't just killed him already if that's his plan. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 21, 2014 -> 11:24 AM) The problem with this theory is that Richard would have had to tell Tommy what happened to his dad. I think from what we've seen of Richard/Tommy, he was protecting Tommy as much as possible from that world. Especially after the massacre at Gillian's brothel/whorehouse. I assumed it was years of conditioning from Gillian, talking about how bad Nucky was to her, and probably telling him that Nuck killed his dad. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 26, 2014 -> 08:24 PM) Boardwalk, sad to see you go. Like Deadwood I feel like it's too early. Agreed. So many more seasons could have been had without spoiling the show. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Oct 27, 2014 -> 12:27 AM) I think hate that the timeline was off by so much for Tommy. If it was actually correct, I would have loved that final scene, but I can't get passed them not noticing or caring. Overall, I thought it was a pretty mediocre finale. Not much action, and not much finality. I feel like a lot of storylines didn't even end. During that scene with Gillian in the institution, I actually was thinking i t would have been cool if she stabbed him and killed him herself, and maybe Tommy broke her out of the place with some scab crew of gangsters. Like her took after his dad AND his caretaker (Richard) to avenge his father and save his mother. But it was too early in the episode I felt for Nucky to die right there. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 27, 2014 -> 07:54 AM) I think it wrapped everything up nicely, so it was satisfying as much as it could be. I still think it was a mistake to end it so quickly and with a shortened season. We could have gotten at least two more seasons with Capone and Luciano. Although I guess I can understand Winters' concern that Nucky didn't have much story left. IMO they could have made him more of a secondary character and the show could have continued with him as the "main" guy but not leading in screen time. Focus on Chicago and New York with the occasional check-in on Nucky trying to become more legitimate while his rivals were doing everything but that. I do like the twist that Tommy didn't kill in revenge for his father, but in revenge for his grandmother. I guess that wasn't really a twist so much as me not reading that situation properly, but still, I liked it. It made sense. Also for those interested, Sepinwall did an interview with Winter about some lingering storylines/issues: http://www.hitfix.com/whats-alan-watching/...e-series-finale QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 27, 2014 -> 10:37 AM) Definitely should have been a full season. But they way they ended it, it just seemed all too convenient. Like they tried to be too tidy with the Darmody kid. It felt forced, to me. Yeah, there was a lot left on the table at the end of the day. I enjoyed the series a lot, but man there was so much more that could have been done. farmteam
Newsroom: What the hell? Wonder where the Neal-on-the-run story is gonna go. And I wonder how much of a character Hallie will be this year. Homeland: Saul's gonna kill Carrie if he ever sees her again. And they'd hinted at the ISI Colonel turning, but I didn't think they'd actually do it. This can give the CIA the upper hand over the ISI finally, by feeding the Ambassador's husband fake info. hogan873
That was one of the most intense episodes of Homeland in quite a while. I liked the Walking Dead episode detailing Daryl and Carol's "adventure". Looks like they're gearing up for another war...probably just in time for the fall finale.
