.289 RISP is acceptable. As for clutch, aside from his Yankees walk-off, I don't recall a De Aza moment as clutch as either the Pods Dodgers walk-off or Game 2. Podsednik is also faster and a better base stealer.

And this is why we keep track of stats. You don't believe De Aza is clutch, but the numbers indicate otherwise. Frankly, I'd love De Aza on my team as a 6 or 7 hitter. He doesn't seem to embrace the leadoff mentality, but he has enough power to be a force lower in the lineup.

If it wasn't for him playing with his head up his ass last year and pissing off a lot of fans and probably coaches and front office people, I'd say he would have been a lock to be the starting LF for the White Sox in 2014. I think of him as the perfect 6th or 7th spot hitter as he provides a little bit of everything down there where he can drive in some big runs and also set something up for the weaker bats with his speed. Also, I don't think he's a 150 K guy like he showed last year, but more so around 100.

I honestly believe Hahn and the organization want to give him another chance but it is a numbers game. I'd say their main goal is probably to dump Dunn so they can get a nice rotation going between DH and LF with Viciedo, De Aza, and Konerko. Something like 400-500 AB's for De Aza and Viciedo each and around 300 for Paulie (a good portion of those coming from against lefty starters and late inning pinch hitting opportunities). However, if they can't find a suitor for Dunn, I see them trading De Aza for a decent bullpen arm. Unfortunately, there aren't a whole lot of teams that need OF help to raise his price tag at all.

I thought for sure when I opened this thread it was going to be somebody calling for the Sox to sign Pods as a 4th outfielder or something. Certain people around here just can't let 2005 go even though it was 9 seasons ago. If I have to hear one more time how the loss of AJ was the reason the team was so bad last year, I'm going to go crazy.

Scott Podsednik was a terrible baserunner, people complain about De Aza's baserunning but Podsednik was the king of making outs on the base paths. In 2005 Pods made 46 outs after reaching base (23CS+14PO+9OOB).

You know you done f***ed up when you get Kalapse out of hiding to post.

I'm pretty sure he was just fine in the clubhouse. The reason he bounced around so much is cause he was a light hitting, awful defensive of whose injuries destroyed his one plus tool.

Please don't forget his amazingly weak throwing arm. The only reason he was able to hit that GWHR in game 2 of the 05 Series was because he couldn't throw out the Astros runner scoring from 2nd when he had the ball as the runner touched 3rd.

I almost never did that "I could do such-and-such as well as that guy" thing about pro athletes, but I am pretty sure I could throw a baseball as hard as Scott Podsednik.

Also, Pods really tended not to hustle to 1st. People seemed to miss this because on occasion he'd turn it on, and when he did he was as fast home-to-first as anyone and it was fun to watch. But a lot of the time, he just didn't use his speed as much as he should have, which makes no sense because that was his key weapon.

Pods had a really nice impact on the '05 team and helped the cause to win the trophy. But it was almost entirely because of a red-hot first half at the plate... plus the exclamation point in WS Game 2. Horrible on defense, inefficient on the basepaths (for most of his career), not much of a hitter in the long haul. That's why he couldn't stick.

Scotty Po-Po did nothing but hit for a good average and steal bases with the best of them. Why do you reckon he bounced around so many teams and is currently a free agent? He seemed pretty reserved and enigmatic when he played for the Chisox..maybe not the best club house guy?

He is a really good guy. It's definitely not a clubhouse problem. Maybe he is smart enough not to bring his wife to some clubhouses.

He was the main catalyst of the 2005 team and will never be forgotten

I liked Pods. People seem to have short memories here. He did a lot to help us win in 2005. Injuries and not being known as a great glove man kept him down I think
