Bieber got a DUI

It's interesting you didn't write "accident". A friend of mine is a local director for MADD and they are very explicit to not call it an accident.

Whoa, you mean one of Satan's avatars confides in you? I'll give you $100 if you can sneak into their harem and get a picture of them without anything covering their horns.

Duke, you now simultaneously really, really don't trust your fellow man to the extent that implementing your worldview makes you more likely to die while also trusting your fellow man enough that implementing your worldview will make you more likely to die -- I point out the "you dying" part because I assume it is the part of most interest to you

FWIW, I'm lukewarm to MADD too. I am of the belief that much of what leads to drunk driving is trying to restrict access to alcohol -- most chronic drunk drivers start drinking and driving before they are of legal age to drink. Many start drunk driving in an effort to hide the fact of their drinking. MADD has become as much anti-alcohol in recent years as it has anti-drunk driving, at least on an organizational level. There are certainly evils to beware of when it comes to alcohol, but attempts to restrict access just lead to more problematic consumption habits. Imagine if the majority of the average college student's alcohol consumption wasn't done with the interest in getting drunk as quickly as possible in an interest of remaining out of sight of authorities.

The most common denominator of countries like us that are doing much better at preventing DUI death is the fact they have a much healthier overall alcohol culture. They all also crack down on DUIs, but in different ways -- some try to catch everyone with a minor punishment while others have mandatory prison sentences. It is all made easier by healthier general consumption. When I mentioned Australia and UK earlier, they both drink more alcohol per person than USA yet have much less of a problem with drunk driving. Many have speculated that this can be attributed to the relative non-restriction of access to alcohol. If it's always there, you won't go crazy to get it

Even the lady who founded MADD thinks they've gone way too far. They are an evil group, make no mistake about it.

I'm wondering why you would lie about being a truck driver.

I don't like being told what to do, thus I can't tell other what to do. I just have to leave it up to their personal responsibility which, obviously, in this country pretty putrid. But eh, I'll put up with it if it means I can do more stuff without being told no by the nanny state.

I have maybe $100 or so worth of booze a month. I had to give it up almost completely because the .04 limit and I can't even sleep in my truck if I've been drinking because me in truck + alcohol in my system = Hardcore CMV DUI. That's forever losing my A license and automatic jail. The key to the truck could be in Bangladesh and they'd still throw the book at me for sleeping in what is essentially my home.

How'd you like it if I barged into your house, woke you up and breathelyzed you? If you resist or complain about that, well, you must just have a drinking problem you f***ing lush.

If I want to get drunk I have to get a hotel. I do sometimes, once or twice a month when I've had a particularly bad day, but I'd hardly call that a problem.

They'd also take the opportunity to tear my truck apart, undoubtedly finding my guns and depending which state I'm in I'd be assf***ed by mandatory minimum sentencing for that crap.

What you say about the keys not being in the truck is not true in Illinois. In fact, you've made many, many statements in this thread that are completely incorrect. Your "knowledge" of the basic facts of BAC, the laws concerning it, its effects on driving, and the research into it are just infuriatingly off. I cannot believe a person can be so ignorant. I honestly believe you're being intentionally obtuse.

Obviously he is. He's created a character. I doubt he's even a professional driver. The last thing a professional wants out there while driving a semi is someone even a little impaired driving around them. A professional understands how dangerous his rig is in an accident and how unpredictable car drivers are even sober. Just compare these two theories of driving he has shared with us:

1. Cars passing a semi on the right -- DANGEROUS!!!!! You will be KILLED!!!!

2. Cars with impaired drivers? no big deal. It's their choice

Do you think a professional driver would really think both of these thoughts? Unless he's one of those unprofessional, driving down the road drinking a beer, listening to Rush (Limbaugh), and watching porn drivers. Then maybe.

Illinois is but one of 48 states I work in. There is a downright adversarial relationship between law enforcement and drivers in many states, though not much in the midwest. My little green book of federal regs is purposely ambiguous over alcohol and mostly just tells employers to set a zero tolerance policy (though not directly).

And I'm saying all that research and studies and propaganda forced on us is bulls*** because I know what I experience and see. I don't need a study, I've driven drunk before and I see drunks pretty regularly out on the road. They don't bother me most of the time.

I love the shtick.

Just to be clear, you don't mind cars weaving, slowing up and slowing down in front of you, pulling out in front and not giving you enough room in case you have to stop, passing on the right, and the other erratic moves that drunk drivers make?

What will go down as the most incredible news story of our lifetimes. Bieber asking Rob Ford for cracked cocaine.

#ford Ford enraged at Muzik nightclub when #bieber asked if he had any crack cocaine. A wild ugly time. Kevin Donovan story breaking soon.

Also Rob Ford got caught smoking crack again.
