Wanne
QUOTE (Knuckles @ Jan 24, 2014 -> 07:15 PM) Adam Eaton looks nothing like baseball player, typical college graduate Joe Shmoe. FWIW. he's blending....
BigHurt3515
QUOTE (Knuckles @ Jan 24, 2014 -> 05:32 PM) @ESPNChiSox 1m Hahn says it's not fair to judge Phegley or Flowers on 200-plus ABs, but both know they are fortunate to get another chance, Hopefully one has a great spring and takes the job and runs with it.. All I ask is for our catcher to hit at least .240 for the year..
Jose Abreu
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 24, 2014 -> 04:53 PM) I have deleted my potentially offensive post and responses. My apologies. Carry on. What was it about
Swingandalongonetoleft
I kinda quickly scanned over the Trib Soxfest schedule and noticed that Frank was set to do a thing with "broadcasters Hawk Harrelson and Tom Paciorek" - Stoney is still in the booth, correct? Also listening to Larry Holmes on 670 with Coop and Todd Steverson right now. Coop is excellent.
ewokpelts
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 24, 2014 -> 06:09 PM) The GM seminar use to be the greatest thing ever. Packed room and it was always front page news the next day. Doubt that anymore There were a lot of marquee signings as well as the frank photo session. I missed out because I wanted a pic of my kid with frank.

Princess Dye
So according to twitter, there was some jeering of Dunn and some booing of the catching and Hahn had to battle all of that? Yegh.
DirtySox
QUOTE (raBBit @ Jan 25, 2014 -> 10:59 AM) Every other question was either ripping Dunn or Ventura. Just reading the recount on twitter is cringe worthy. Ugh. Edited January 25, 2014 by DirtySox
Marty34
You can't blame fans for being unhappy about Dunn still being here.
Chicago White Sox
QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jan 25, 2014 -> 11:09 AM) You can't blame fans for being unhappy about Dunn still being here. Dunn is frustrating as hell to watch, but given our lack of offense and left-handed bats, he definitely has value to us against RHP regardless of what the common Sox fan may think. That said, I don't want to see him in a White Sox uniform after 2014 under any circumstance.
LittleHurt05
QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Jan 25, 2014 -> 10:56 AM) So according to twitter, there was some jeering of Dunn and some booing of the catching and Hahn had to battle all of that? Yegh. Is it really that hard to understand why resigning an older, expensive catcher on a rebuilding team is not the best idea?
Princess Dye
'frustrating to watch' actually is not something that really matters. at all. Steve Trachsel was frustrating to watch but if he had a good year for the team you root for -- then yr fine w/ that. As a fan you should want a good year. Plain and simple. This was the OPS leader so if the frustrations begin and end with him then obviously the fandom has turned a blind eye to all the other guys on this roster that were underperforming. Spread blame equally, and (specifically to the people with a mic today) show some class in doing it. Marty34
QUOTE (raBBit @ Jan 25, 2014 -> 11:16 AM) Yeah, unfortunately I was really disappointed. I'm sure I'll enjoy Lauman and Bell better. but you can blame them for asking Robin about his credibility and for booing Dunn. I don't know I just prefer professional discourse instead of the meathead talk. It's not my style to boo players, but Dunn still being here is bad for this franchise. Throw the fans who attend the games a bone by getting rid of him.

Dunn hasn't exactly delivered on his contract, but he has hit 41 and 34 home runs over the past two seasons. Not exactly dragging down our offense out there. Princess Dye
QUOTE (southside hitman @ Jan 25, 2014 -> 11:22 AM) Dunn hasn't exactly delivered on his contract, but he has hit 41 and 34 home runs over the past two seasons. Not exactly dragging down our offense out there. And he's definitely the type that needs people on base or behind him that are some kind of freaking threat. His best year here he had that. Dunn is symbolic of a failed strategy. This franchise would be better off without him even if he hits 30 homers.
Jake
He makes this year's team better and if he has a decent first half he suddenly becomes tradeable for actual players

So you don't want a guy who is going to hit 30 homers even though our offense is most likely going to be pathetic because he's "symbolic of a failed strategy?" Brian26
Exactly correct about the 10am seminar. The guy that asked Robin if he had a pulse was out of line, and Hahn's response pretty much was perfect.
