Give me a break, there is no code for being a white sox fan, or a cubs fan, or a fan of anything. People are gonna always act like people have done for thousands of year. I think it is pretty ironic you have no problem treating Adam Dunn like a D-bag, but get pissed when someone tells you want they think of it. When you're a fan of a 99 loss team, spending alot of money just to see a game (tickets, concessions, parking) and watch Dunn at 15m per year suck you tend to get a little frustrated, especially after watching Dunn hack it up for three seasons already. I can honestly say I have never treated anyone like that. I may have told them I disagree with them but not in that manner. You can speak your mind without treating other people like garbage. You can say they played bad, I;m sure he knows that, but to constantly treat him like that is wrong. Maybe it's just the parent in me but when people behave that poorly, you do have the right to tell them they should treat others with respect. It's just being civilized. He is not the reason the Sox lost 99 games. And he next time i hear somebody use the we pay his salary argument im going to lose it. Any consumer of any product is in a sense paying the salary of said companies employees. Adam Dunn has been a stand-up guy. He knows his own stats better than anyone on this board. But there is no reason to think that Adam Dunn hasn't done his absolute (clean) best and just not been as good as any of us would have liked (him included). Soxtalk is an interesting representation of our world...which has just gotten too effing mean-spirited. It was embarrassing. My question is why not there? People are paying hundreds of dollars to attend and naturally most people wear their emotions on their sleeve. I could understand if this was a free event but the sox are making a killing off of this. Maybe I just don't feel sympathy for players and coaches getting paid a whole lot of money for what most of us would do for free. And being a public figure leads you open to criticism.
