You can't get ESPN3 unless you have an existing cable/satellite service that carries ESPN (or unless you are bumming someone else's login). I live in a town of around 1000 people and I can go to the bar and have 5 craft beers with a burger and fries for around $20 including tip. Since it's such a small town, everybody knows everybody and if you're a regular typically every 3rd or 4th beer is on the house. Yeah, same here. NBC Sports Network, CSN, WGN, NBC, FOX, CBS, MLB Network are all I need for sports. I hardly ever watch ESPN anymore. They required all over the air signals to be sent out in HD (even if not in HD format) a few years ago, so people with old tube tv's needed a digital tuner box, but you can still get over the air stuff. A few beers, watch the game, go home. Eat before you go too so you're not hungry. I don't know, it wasn't so bad. I'd rather pay $10 to get out of the house than $5 to stay in it. I'd like to think I'd be more productive instead of getting suckered into sports every night when I sit down to eat dinner. But my roommate is a couch potato and would never agree to getting rid of cable. So I'm cool with having it. At least I only have to pay half. I live south of St. Louis and for whatever reason KC Royals games are blacked out so whenever the White Sox play them I have to find a way to watch the games..
