jasonxctf
So Jim Thome is eligible for the Hall of Fame in 2018. After seeing Greg Maddux and Tony LaRussa go in without a lead team affiliation (no hat), wondering what you think Jim Thome would do if elected? MVP's (4) Times in the Top 15 with Cleveland (1) Time in the Top 15 with Chicago All Star (3) Times with Cleveland (1) Time with Philadelphia (1) Time with Chicago Silver Slugger (1) Time with Cleveland Home Run Title (1) Time with Philadelphia Service Time (13) years with Cleveland (12) years (some partial) with other teams So clearly his best years were with Cleveland, but had some good, solid "add-on's" post Indians. southsider2k5
Hall of Famer, Indians hat. No question.
Quin
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 29, 2014 -> 12:32 PM) Hall of Famer, Indians hat. No question.
BaseballNick
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 29, 2014 -> 12:32 PM) Hall of Famer, Indians hat. No question. Agreed, despite the fact he was booed there late in his career (which is absolutely pathetic).
almagest
His career numbers are pretty staggering, and he hit over 600 home runs. I think it'll be a crime if he's not in 1st ballot.
Texsox
I can't picture him in with any cap other than an Indian. And, he should be first ballot.
BigEdWalsh
Twins hat. But seriously, Indians hat without question and should be first ballot. It's cool enough for me that another guy with solid White Sox connections will be going in and he will be going in.
Jake
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 29, 2014 -> 12:32 PM) Hall of Famer, Indians hat. No question. This. I love him as a player, I'm very glad he has stayed affiliated to the Sox, but I can hardly feel correct in claiming him as a White Sox. lasttriptotulsa
Indians. No questions asked. Personally I think it's kind of dumb for Maddux to go in with no logo. He played more years with the Braves, won 3 of his 4 Cy Young there, won his only World Series ring there and his numbers are far superior as a Brave than as a Cub. bmags
Thome played for 25 years?
lasttriptotulsa
QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 29, 2014 -> 01:45 PM) Thome played for 25 years? No he played 22, but if you count his split seasons as a year for each team it just adds up that way.
bmags
QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Jan 29, 2014 -> 08:56 PM) No he played 22, but if you count his split seasons as a year for each team it just adds up that way. Still amazed.

chw42
I'm pretty sure Thome's clean. If Frank got in, he should get in. There's no reason 600+ home runs and a 147 wRC+ doesn't get into the HOF.

I know he played the same number of seasons with the Cubs, but that dude is a Brave in everyone's mind. My Cub fan friends think of him as a Brave. I love Thome, but he does not belong wearing a Sox hat. This isn't a Fisk situation.
