OP said 06' or later son.

And didn't Contreras break the franchise consecutive wins streak or something in 2006?

So anything before 2005 just remains forgotten? How else are we going to remember the Sox coming back from an 8-1 deficit against the Cubs?

What's overrated about it?

the play looked amazing but i think he means because the base runner was molina. he didnt have to try to make that play so fast? i remember even paulie saying something about it, that it was molina running

My Sox v. Cubs meatballism has long been vanquished, but Pierzynski clowning Ryan Dempster with a 3 run shot with 2 out in the bottom of the 9th to pull the Sox ahead 8-6, followed by the Cubs' fandom kindly letting Sox fans savor the moment for a few extra minutes by throwing garbage onto their field and forcing a delay is one of the warmer sports memories I have. I actually think that in the long run, this moment served as a cherry on the sundae that was the 2005 Championship when it came to me outgrowing the standard Sox fan hostility toward Cubdom. Short of beating them in a World Series, or being the team that hands them a postseason contention eliminating loss, I can't think of too many things that can top a come from behind HR hit by AJ Pierzysnki (just a little over a month removed from the Barrett incident) with 2 out in the bottom of the 9th that resulted in Cub fans more or less taking a piss on their own front lawn.

Iguchi hitting a 3-run jack in the 8th and a grand slam in the 9th to tie it.

Second game of a doubleheader on Sept 14, 2008. Sox up 7-0 on the Tigers. Tigers score 2 in the top of the 7th, 5 in the top of the 8th, capped off by a grand slam by Marcus Thames. Bottom of the 8th, Sox load the bases and Dewayne Wise hits a grand slam.

Also, Konerko's homer off Guardado in 2003 to tie it, and then Frank hitting a bomb FOUL and then following it up with a BOMB that stayed fair.

I'll never forget that Frank AB. It's one of my fondest memories. It was a long AB. Hawk went nuts. Konerko was really sucking up to that point in the season too. For some reason that whole sequence is just ingrained in my memory.

Just like Jeff Abbott's 2 out, 2 run walk off against Bob Wells against Minny in 2000. Which was coincidentally when Guardado started taking over closer duties instead of just being left handed specialist. I remember some weird stuff.

They made a commercial after the first one. A commercial where Paulie is like at the plate and down on himself or something, and then Harold shows him a portable DVD player that is playing a flip of Paulie getting hit in the mouth and then homering, and it gives him the motivation or something.

Video of Paulie's HR off Pavano - http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/8879206/v1212...r-to-left-field

My god he was cheating on that pitch SO hard, lol. He had nothing on his mind except dinger there.

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but even though I'm not a Cubs hater like a lot of you people, I did love when AJ hit that 3-run bomb in the top of the 9th in 2006 at Wrigley and all the fans trashed the field.

I can't find the broadcast video of it, but here is a fan video of the Wrigley clean-up crew.

Didn't thome homer at Cleveland on opening day in 06 to kick off his sox career

He homered at home, in the rain, on opening day to start his Sox career. It may have been against the Indians, but I am not sure.

EDIT: Yep, it was against the Indians, in the rain, on Sunday Night Baseball, and Brandon McCarthy threw 3 perfect innings in relief of Buehrle, who left after the 3 hour rain delay.

And IIRC, Jenks had blown the save in the 9th too, correct?

I'm not saying that some people have forgotten big events like Buehrle's perfect game. I'm saying we- all of us- must have forgotten at least one thing on the list (until now). If you can make a list of Sox moments since 05 off the top of your head and have it include everything on this list and more, then good for you. But the point of this thread is to just remember all the moments the Sox have had- some smaller than others.
