Giving up anything to trade jay would be dumb. They're not getting Mariota or Jameis and there is no other plug and play qb in the draft. Keep the pick wait a year then take the 3 mil cap hit to cut him if he still blows.

Again the bears still have 29 mill, 10th most, in cap room even with Jay still around so it's not like they can't add good pieces to the d because of Jay.

but how often does that actually work, especially when signing multiple guys to fill holes?

might be better off trading Cutler(of course easier said then done given the contract) and getting mid round picks. Suck next year and get a top pick for a QB and not spend all that money on free agents, who are usually players their former team didnt want b/c if they wanted them, they'd never hit free agency.

Well the reply i made was in reffernce to giving something up to trade Jay. I agree that it might be better off trading him for mid round picks, but not if the bears are sending mid or higher round picks back as well. That's counter intuitive.

First McCown now Clausen. Maybe Cutler is the only problem on offense. Regardless his trade value is going down by the minute.

Yeah, you're completely right. How many points do the Bears have again?

You can say that Jimmy Clausen hasn't convinced you that he's actually any good, but he's basically pitched a no-hitter today (would be a perfecto without the "errors" if you catch my drift). Don't let your dislike of management cloud your judgment of what is a really nice football game for him. Unfortunate that the receiving corps seems to have packed it in
