Soxfest
Bears hired Adam Gase as offensive coordinator. Gase will re-join John Fox after losing out on the 49ers and Broncos' head-coach jobs. Gase has been Fox's OC the last two years and will have total control over the Bears' offense. Gase's hire is good news for Alshon Jeffery and Matt Forte. Jeffery will presumably play the high-volume "Demaryius role" in Gase's attack. The Broncos were a top-five offense under Gase the last two seasons. Gase should resurface as a head-coaching candidate next offseason if he can prove he can win without Peyton Manning. Source: Rotoworld
shipps
Okay so it appears on so many different levels the Bears have hit it out of the park this off season. I think I am more impressed with this off season than maybe any other that I can remember. They have established the strongest foundation we have seen probably ever to put this team in he right direction for years to come. This is how you build a team. From the ground up and not just bringing in a "draft guy" and hiring what you think is the next genius coach. Thank you Ernie and thank you Bear's for not f***ing this up. bmags
Unreal, what an incredible set of coaches. I have no doubt our talent will be maximized by year 3. So excited for this era to continue getting to work. The only thing I'm sad about is there is nothing left to talk about until April.
Kyyle23
The Bears have coaches from the last 2 superbowls on their staff, and they arent positional coaches getting their first shot. These are the main coordinators and head coach. This is craziness
LittleHurt05
And got an e-mail last night that season tickets prices will NOT increase next year. The McCaskeys must all be locked up in a room somewhere, this is not real.

Harry Chappas
so after next season either Gase is gone (HC) or Cutler is gone, because offense failed That is why I think they were looking at Weiss. We do not have to eat or hang out with Weiss, there is no doubting his ability as an OC. Head coach he sucks but OC is a position he thrives in. He is not a leader of men but he is a damn good OC. Im fine with either. Any success next season will be gravy, and if Gase somehow wrings a good season out of Cutler, then he deserves a chance to be a HC. And I trust Fox and his ability to hire a replacement for Gase
2nd_city_saint787
QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jan 22, 2015 -> 11:32 AM) So what is Marhsall's role? #hegone? He seems to be excited about the Gase hire. I remember PFF had a statistic a year ago about how good Marshall was in the slot. Now I know the offense doesn't have to mirror Denvers, but just for the sake of a role convo, I'd say he plays the Welker role. There was already a tweet about Alshon = Thomas, so now I really think this team needs a Sanders, a guy to really stretch the field. shipps
I know its fun to talk about for most people it seems but I have zero interest in "Deflate Gate". Nothing about it leads me to want to know more about it or follow another second of the story. I usually find myself getting sucked into these stories but this one is just plain boring. Cause it is stupid and completely overblown. If it were the Patriots complaining about this, the media would be talking about how the Pats are just sore losers, etc. Bottom line...this is a story only because it involves the Pats.
