Did you guys see scefters tweet? He's saying bears will have to send huge package of picks to get rid of Cutler

He didn't say a huge package of picks, but will probably have to send a high pick with Cutler in which they get a lower round pick back. He was thinking something like Cutler and a 3rd.

Honestly, Bears fans shouldn't be choosy on who they can offload Cutler on. You need to get rid of that contract as soon as possible. And the whole argument of, "Well, who will replace him..." is a very weak one. You've had QBs all worse than him over your franchise's existance and have made SBs as well as won one.

The Bears also made an NFC Championship game with Jay and he had almost no talent around him at all on offense.

The Bears would be paying to downgrade at QB (by a lot). It'll probably happen, but it's really stupid.

With those crappier QBs they made all of two Super Bowls in their history, and one required an all time great defense. Your argument supports keeping Cutler.

The faster you move you move on from Cutler, the faster you can move onto finding a new QB. It may not happen in a year or two, but as long as you actively seek one out, you'll find one. For some oddball reason, people have this connotation that Cutler is the ceiling when it comes to QBs and the Bears will never get one as good if not better than him. It's a loser mentality really.

To be a little fair...that "oddball reason" is "40 years of experience with the franchise".

Well, they have never had a QB better than Cutler before, so it's hard to have faith in the franchise finding a better one.

This is my thinking. Keep Jay one more year and draft a QB next spring.

Giving up anything to trade jay would be dumb. They're not getting Mariota or Jameis and there is no other plug and play qb in the draft. Keep the pick wait a year then take the 3 mil cap hit to cut him if he still blows.

Again the bears still have 29 mill, 10th most, in cap room even with Jay still around so it's not like they can't add good pieces to the d because of Jay.

Disagree. He had a huge hand in taking Seattle to the SB a few years back, and with Cleveland, he was hired just to get rid of a ton of bad contracts and make the team look sell-able.

Which of his QB picks was your favorite? Charlie Frye, Colt McCoy, or Brandon Weeden?

Yeah, this is my thinking as well. Without knowing exactly how poisonous Jay may have been to this particular roster, it's hard for us to really understand everything going into this decision. Unless they can acquire someone else with talent to step in now and displace Jay, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to give away additional assets to get him off the roster. Build with an eye towards the future, and unload Jay when his replacement will be ready.

Clausen looks excellent. Accurate, making smart decisions, has been victimized by four drops at least by now. The one bad play was the fourth down on the goal line - I don't know if there was a guy to throw to, but he chucked it up to Eben Britton

And he's thrown about 3 or 4 balls that have hit the receivers in the palms and they've dropped it. WR's are doing him no favors.

Jeffery has two and Bennett had one that wouldn't have mattered since he wasn't gaining anything on the first play of the game. Wilson's wasn't really a drop but it was a play that could be made.
